Said hi to munkevilli
beach bunny set at hob front porch
hot dog from jimmy's which replaced max's on adams
buy today's ticket at box office, say hi to mookie
redveil isn't a good rapper
niko rubio has promise, maybe future ruido fest act
mills is kind of blues rock at least for the couple of minutes I saw
last dinosaurs are too inexperienced, but did run into cosmo
meet me at the altar at the music den were really great, even tho I had to keep backing up from the lead singer
who is the 25 to 30 something white female lead guitarist who pretends she is just mm@ta's rhythm guitarist?
lolla board reunion w/ falco and just about everyone else, including five hole's better half / director of player personnel as sam fender plays the song that wxrt has started to overplay
can't last more than 1/2 hour at bono jr's band's set
walk to kidzapalooza to disappointingly find that special guest is local [disadvantaged] youth band
say hi to munk and tweet and catch all of zach bryan's 45 minute set which seems speeded up to fit a lot in
no role model because they finished too early
a little tove lo goes a along way, I did not see doctor ace at tove lo, but assumed that I felt his presence at ms. lo
the auto-tuned pierre bourne was worse than non-auto-tuned redveil earlier today
first (and last perry's visit of the day is for the smooth set from mk, whoever he is, and the colorful visuals are amazing even to colorblind nana
more board, including krentist at billy strings, who I did not like as much as I thought I would, I feel he is just too jammy, phish-like, even tho he is guitar precision come to life, surprised molly tuttle didn't show
knees and leg muscles starting to give in this old nanafish, so caught a couple minutes of ashnikko and her stans fans, and caught the el home
2 gatorades, a seltzer, a boxed water, and 3 drinkable kefirs meant a blood sugar when I got home that was lower than my average.

Do we still use Phish-like as a pejorative on this board I thought it was a new era of positivity here
I thought everyone I saw today (Zach, Tove Lo, Gecs, Billy, Ashnikko, Metallica) were fine to great. Definitely fairly priced at $125. I am as happy as anyone that the kids are learning about them but I was at least a little embarrassed for Metallica when they put a Stranger Things clip in their set???

This is going to sound ignorant so forgive me, but when Billy Strings plays a set like he did at the Metro Wednesday night and covers a whole bunch of songs does he do them in bluegrass style? As somebody unfamiliar with his music it just seemed that the way he kept mentioning "pickin'" and opening for Metallica that he was takin the piss out of the situation by playing straight bluegrass for his whole set.

If you wanted to split hairs you could say he does them in more of a jamgrass style.

I just chilled in the shade off to the side, didn't try to get close or anything. Feel like he had a decent crowd too. I'm glad you all recommended him

Had a great time yesterday. First time back at Lolla since 2009. I met my gf like 2 months later so I am an entirely different human now from when I last was at this fest.
Started off with Willie Jones at the BMI stage. Just a solid hour of fun dumb country music. Caught the last two songs of Sam Fender, including his big hit. He sounded fine, but 99% of people sitting on people's shoulders were dudes. When did this start happening??
Pounded beers and listened to The Wombats from the hill. Never listened to them before but I would have been very into them in like 2008. Our friends wanted to see Still Woozy so we got pretty close for that. My gf's coworker told her that Still Woozy sounds a lot like Animal Collective so we should like them. That was...not correct.
Got Harold's for dinner and waited for Billy Strings. He was really great, and it was fun to see him outdoors. A nice little coda to the 3+ hours show at the Metro on Wednesday.
Metallica was fucking awesome. They were my first concert in 2004 and haven't seen them since. Honestly pretty blown away that Hetfield's voice still sounds so great. Crowd was great and seemed pretty massive. Tons of people singing along and having a wild time.
Very glad I came back to Lolla and I now realize that the price is worth it if there are just two bands I really want to see.

How did they decide who got to be in the 'snake pit' for Metallica? Was it just VIP's and such?

How did they decide who got to be in the 'snake pit' for Metallica? Was it just VIP's and such? I think it was through their fan club or something. I saw a few people picking up the passes for the pit, and they were not VIP otherwise

This is 100% a lie I would tell someone to fuck with them, this is so funny I was going to say, that might have been the biggest music lie I have seen. Unless they just meant that both acts suck live.

How did they decide who got to be in the 'snake pit' for Metallica? Was it just VIP's and such? Members of their (paid) fan club who won contests. Same process as the people who were on stage in 2015.
