Also I will not be caught dead at a festival that has Rainbow Kitten Surprise on the second line of any day.

I went to Shaky Knees a few weeks ago and had a great time for what it's worth

I like this lineup a lot but I'd only go if most the other fests have bad lineups (very possible).
Like one or two more rare/hard to see acts and this would really do it for me but hard to justify traveling as it is

Thinking more about this and can’t imagine anywhere Dan Bejar would rather be than on a stage outside, at like 2:30 in the afternoon, in Atlanta, in May.

I'm still contemplating this, it would be cheaper to buy a 3 day pass than to buy two one day passes ($240 vs. $260)

Does anyone know why Japandroids backed out of this? Their website/twitter tells me nothing. Between that and Travis, Friday took a big hit. Moving Biffy Clyro to Friday only made it worse.
On the other hand, Green Day, Spoon, and Sports Team should be enough for admission (assuming none of them bail). Sports Team reminds me of The Cribs, which is cool but also makes me miss Nathan Wind (RIP).

I just saw the chatter about Biffy Clyro on the other festivals thread. Glad to see I'm in good company.

I guess we can add Billy Idol (sinus surgery) to the list of acts cancelling on Friday.

I guess we can add Billy Idol (sinus surgery) to the list of acts cancelling on Friday. I bought tickets for the Journey/Billy Idol show in KC just to see Billy Idol. But, now I get to see Toto instead which isn't a total loss.

Let's me put it this way: If they had announced a Journey/Toto show before I bought tickets....I wouldn't have bought tickets. But, Toto is not in the TK, so there's that for me. Plus, my wife likes Toto a lot more than I do.

I was fully prepared for a Billy Idol/Spoon conflict, so I won't be that bummed. Maybe they will find a sizable replacement for him that I will be more interested in. Too bad Toto is busy around that time...

Schedule is up. There are like 3 or 4 TBA spots? Only conflicts that would really bug me would be King Gizzard vs. Japanese Breakfast and Band of Horses vs. Pup.

Yeah, the Pup vs Band of Horses thing really sucks. Ironically, it's a band I wasn't that familiar with vs a band that wasn't on the initial lineup so I guess I can't complain that much. I was also hoping Happy Fits would be earlier in the day rather than against DCFC. Those acts plus MMJ would have made for a great day.
They promised a replacement for Japandroids on Friday so I assume that's one of the TBAs. It also looks like Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Drugdealer quietly cancelled today. Glad to see Billy Idol is still on the lineup, though.
Really hoping the TBA vs Kurangabin is a good one, but maybe I'll just camp between DCFC and MMJ.

Can't paste the aftershow list since my work blocks their website, but it's a pretty lackluster list this year

Will Carl be happy about any of them? I don't think so... Mannequin Pussy/Angel Dust, and Mt. Joy are probably the two best choices out of all of them

Will Carl be happy about any of them? My top request was Pup so I could stop worrying about their fest conflict with Band of Horses, so this was quite disappointing. HOWEVER, when I checked the schedule I was overjoyed to see they had moved Pup later vs Kurangabin (yawn), so now I can see Girlpuppy, BOH, DCFC, Pup, and MMJ. I can't complain about that. The best aftershow is Phantom Planet but their set at the fest should be enough for me.

Billy Idol officially out as he's still receiving from his sinus surgery.
