Boy, I'd love to see the face of the guy who just paid 500,000 or so for Brady's last TD's ball

Monastery don’t pick the Bears as your new team WHO WILL IT BE?!?! I'm open to all suggestions - leaning Buffalo since they're actually in NY State. Fuck the Jets and Giants - largely because I hate the Meadowlands.

Browns are absolute clowns
i can't believe they gave that much guaranteed money to a rapist on top of even trading for him in the first place

That's an insane amount of money for someone who hasn't played football in two years. Also he's a sexual predator. Browns ownership are morons

Dude is a rapist and you gave him the highest vote of confidence possible. Traded away three years of assets and gave him the richest contract in league history. They can kick rocks.

I've watched them my whole life. Got excited for Jeff Garcia, Colt McCoy, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden, and even Johnny fuckin' Manziel. I watched more than 2/3 of the 1-31 run. Sat through more than enough DeShone Kizer to last me a lifetime. And - honestly? It was fun. I made great memories with my friends and my Dad watching and laughing about how shitty they were. The last few years with Baker / Myles / Chubb have been the most fun, especially knocking off the Steelers in back-to-back weeks into the playoffs. But this is a bridge too far. Sports is supposed to be fun, and this crosses that line. Yeah, yeah I know football itself is a moral roadblock, and every team has shitheads (including the Browns own Kareem Hunt!), but I have to draw my own line somewhere - and this is it.
Go Bills!

This is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but I feel bad for baker mayfield. Hope he ends up in either Seattle or New Orleans

Hope he ends up in either Seattle or New Orleans I think Indy is a possibility, but he makes the most sense in Seattle, imo. I guess at least Amari Cooper talents may not go to waste now with Watson there? Anyway, I just want to point out that the Bears signed Equanimeous (sp?) St. Brown and Byron Pringle yesterday, so it’s a relief to know they’re committed to supplying Fields with offensive weapons for the passing game.

What a wild off-season. Has there ever been this much movement of star players and quarterbacks?

6 games for Watson. Which - thanks to the Browns' salary manipulation, will only cost him about $300,000 of his fully guaranteed $230,000,000 contract.
It's already incredibly weird not being a Browns fan anymore, since they were such a big part of my life growing up and hanging with my friends. But now I'm more and more feeling an aversion for the NFL as a whole. Don't think I can completely swear off the league, but I definitely feel myself caring faaaar less than ever before. Go Bills, I guess.

For your consideration: as a former Browns fan, you may feel more at home with Jets fandom.

The NFL is appealing to make the Deshaun suspension longer, but I'm really confused, I thought the NFL itself set these suspensions? Why was this one set by like a mediator/judge/whoever set it? What made this one different?
Dude shouldn't ever play again, not just even a full year suspension, but im still confused by how this has all gone down. Did they just allow the 6 game news to get out there to see how it'd go over and figured they'd extend it if people reacted poorly?

For some reason the NFL and NFLPA appointed a mutually agreed upon judge to hear the case and make a ruling. I didn’t realize an appeal would be the next step, but in this instance it seems like the appeal is the mechanism for Goodell to wield his own punishment (I believe he can also appoint a representative to override the judge’s recommendation).
Frankly, I’m confused, too. Is this business with the judge supposed to lend an air of legitimacy to this process? Seems like a big waste of everyone’s time when Goodell is just going to impose a suspension of his own design in the end.

On its face, all this does is make the league look “valiant” in trying to pursue a harsher penalty when it determined the guidelines for such a ruling to begin with.
Sham league, garbage sport.

Looking plausible I'm winding up going to games against the Texans and Dolphins. They might win both of those games!
