I’ve watched (and loved) all of them except The Corner and Homicide which frustratingly seem to be unavailable for streaming or digital purchase. What’s your fave and why? Not including The Wire since it’s frequently (always?) included on the short list of best shows ever.

I've only seen Show Me a Hero and The Plot Against America of these and I liked Show Me a Hero more but it's been a minute. I really need to watch some more of these

Yeah, sad to say I have never gone through any of these, I've meant to watch Treme and We Own This City. That is my valuable input here.

The Deuce is definitely the 2nd best one but I haven't seen Plot Against America yet. "We Own This City" was his most doom pilled for sure and felt appropriate for the time. I enjoyed Treme but would have no argument with anyone who said it was boring or bad other than try to chill out and listen to some tunes.

I haven’t finished the final ep if we own this city yet cuz of vacation, but every episode has been absolutely infuriating to me, so I think it’s working

Oh god, Homicide pretty easily. I wish it was available on streaming services so people could discover how incredible of a show it was, particularly for the time period.

Peak Andre Braugher made Pembleton one of the top 10 characters in TV history, and that's not hyperbole.

Treme's first season is fantastic and I kind of wish it had just ended there.

I wish it was available on streaming services so people could discover how incredible of a show it was, particularly for the time period. yeah, this is what i'd say. i stalled out on Treme and the Deuce. and i haven't yet seen any of The Plot Against America or We Own this City. but Homicide was appointment television in my home. we watched a lot of the police procedurals and Homicide's the one that felt like it had an extra little oomph, at least to my teenage brain.

It's Homicide and it's not close. But the gap between it and The Wire is pretty vast imo

I mean one was on network TV and the other was on HBO, so I'd expect that.
