It feels weird to really like both teams in the Finals. As much as I’d love Denver to win, I don’t think I can root against Jimmy. Remember how GarPax let him go cause they didn't think he could be a generational superstar I think that's when I became radicalized as a Bulls fan

It's been fun to witness a functional franchise.

Obviously the regular season is a different story, but idk how you could say he's not a top 5-10 (really top 5) player in the postseason. Really weird player / honestly unlike anyone I've seen in sports as a whole. Maybe, like, Curt Schilling without all the abhorrent political opinions.

He's a man clearly driven by revenge and I love it.

But I still hope the Heat get swept.

Even allowing for the “bubble” being a weird thing: two finals appearances, another ECF appearance that went 7 games, with no top 20 (30? 40?? 50???) teammate in a conference that includes Giannis and Embiid is absolutely a generational talent.
I think Bam is probably a top 40-50 player, ftr.

Jimmy Butler is obviously awesome and he is not a "generational superstar". Both things can be true.

He's a man clearly driven by revenge and I love it. I don't remember where I read it but someone said "he is putting up Jordan-esque numbers fueled by Jordan-esque levels of pettiness"

Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, and LaMarcus Aldridge are my three favorite generational superstars

That's a bizarre third choice.

I think he searched Jimmy Butler on basketball reference and found a play comparable to Jimmy Butler

I searched 'generational superstars" on Google and Aldridge was between Kareem and Rashard Lewis

I’m at a wedding in Wisconsin and watched it on my phone. Thought jaylen brown just clunked the season away. Might have people over to watch Game 7

Joker, Murray, MPJ, Gordon, Brown, et al all just fuckin sick in Game 1. Zero rust. Winning with machine-life efficiency. What a juggernaut.

Heat don't have it tonight, but I'm honestly impressed by their ability to keep hanging on in the 4th. Like, the Celtics would be down by 25 rn and playing the all white guys lineup.
