We're getting our roof replaced today so I moved my office into the basement. Bonus is that my record player is right next to me - first up:

Was in Pittsburgh last weekend, driving one of Emma's sisters to college. Stopped at Jerry's while I was there - which, if you're not familiar, is the best record store in the world. Picked these up on the cheap: The Ochs record is his "goes electric" album, and stands amongst his best work, IMO. The title track might be my favorite thing he ever did ("When I'm Gone" is the other contender). And the Rare Earth album has a solid A-side and then their magnificent 21-minute long take on "Get Ready" on the B-side. Such an incredible garagey jam and one of the most frequently sampled drum breaks in early hip-hop.

I got a handwritten "Thanks (Tweet)" note with this in the mail today which I thought was really neat, plus some stickers. If you can't remember if this album is a great one the answer is "yes it is go listen to it right now".

This pressing sounds delightful. I feel like a lot of records now have terrible surface noise.

This pressing sounds delightful. I feel like a lot of records now have terrible surface noise. One of my most frequently-played records.

It sounds nice though a little bare bones for the $40 I paid. Look forward to doing it again for the Tidal and Idler Wheel represses
