Gig Poster Thread

The Cure have had some exceptional gig posters on this run. I'm going to be buying the second edition of the Mansfield show I was at last week (which I like FAR more than the first edition sold at the show), and the Philly show's was really awesome too. 

I'm not sure if we've ever had this thread, but after learning a coworker is an avid print collector, I dug back into some of my past concerts where I know I passed on an available poster. I've been trying to track a couple of them down and I've discovered so many other cool posters...wanted to see what everyone else had in their collection / just missed out on / etc.

I've only bought like 2 or 3 gig posters since college ended, but this one last year was an easy (and insane) exception:

not really a gig poster, but a poster for a stephen king speaking / reading show i went to in tulsa. i love the simple boldness of it - it tells the story of stephen king just by looking at it.

I have a poster from the first boygenius show, which is funny since boygenius isn't actually on the poster anywhere.

Haven't put either up since moving to my new place last August. In part because of laziness but more so I don't want to be associated with what is now one of the most insufferable fan bases.

This is my favorite concert/fest artwork. Also picked up an Isbell Red Rocks poster last year that I just got framed. Still need to frame my 2007 Lolla poster, too.

Actually somewhere I also have a crumpled poster from a Deerhunter, No Age and Dan Deacon round-robin pool party show that the acts signed. No idea where it is right now.

I just placed my order for the Cure poster in my original post, and realized it comes with a plastic-protected trading card of the poster, which has the show's setlist printed on the back.

Sick.

besides just deep dive googling, any tips or secret sites to find out if a gig even had a poster? there's some i'd like to try and find if possible

i can't help with this but yes there used to be a site - gigposters.com - that had a fantastic database and forum for posters. i think it shut down 5-6 years ago? who else remembers it?

expressobeans.com/ is another good resource, but far from complete. i have several posters that aren't listed there.

This is also what I use, or just googling "band name" "venue name" "show year" "poster" can usually unearth a starting point
