are you suggesting he should directly address it when he is on stage?

I mean, not necessarily but if he's taking time out of his "coming out of solitude and hitting the road again" show to talk about various social things and not be telling jokes about whatever he's talking about, it seems like the kind of thing he would mention. I'm not gonna say that on stage is or isn't the time to address it, but I think it's odd considering the circumstances and the other things he talks about.

My point was more that I am surprised he didn't say anything because I imagine it feels like a weird elephant in the room and I hope that he will use some sort of bigger platform to apologize or address it in some way. It's been the reason for his radio silence on any future projects thus far, I would imagine.

Song lyrics aside (why did they lead with that?), that evidence is pretty damning.

the most surprising thing, is that even though I've seen the Orwells in concert (Reckless Records on Broadway, maybe?), I did not know that a band member has the same name as the late NY Governor.

Those are some dark lyrics and it set the stage for what came next. I guess I didn't really know what kind of band they were though, don't know them beyond seeing that "Who the f are the Orwells?" shirt all over

the last time i saw (or will see) them was at an 18+ emporium a few years ago. littered with very drunk young people (i was like 24?). glad to see the twin peaks boys at least making a comment/not hiding from it. this feels like it will have some staying power/get picked up by some larger publications soon.

It does not sound like the Orwells had a choice in cancelling their show. Good for Metro.

Haha no that's Smith Westerns. I don't think Max from SW/Whitney was the main target in that either.
And it wasn't #metoo, just said they were douchebags

Definitely respect for ol' gotta hear both sides McGowan Like I said, initial response was fucked but at least she was quick to correct herself instead of make more excuses instead of wait 10 years like McCain.
