A friend of mine was predicting he'd be back sooner rather than later because he probably feels insulated in NYC. He'll just end up at the same old spots he started out at because he has a weird support system, which is shitty. But yeah: Ughhhhh he can get fucked and burn

Not excited to hear all the "HE DIDN'T ASSAULT ANYONE HE JUST JERKED OFF IN FRONT OF THEM" takes all over again. Christ what a disgusting person.

Honestly I think the worst part is that it was a surprise and was just thrust on people in the audience who might not have wanted to be a part of that at all. I'm not sure what I would have done in that situation. Probably wouldn't have walked out TBH, but I bet/hope some people did.

I hope everyone walks out on him in every possible situation for the rest of his life

I think he certainly has the right to come back. Let audiences decide whether or not he should continue to have a thriving career. If he isn't a draw for people anymore, well...too bad.

It's not often I say this but I wish that venue had been more like the Metro.

5 stories on P4K in the last 24 hours have been about violence towards women: Orwells, Louis CK, Trey Songz, Majical Cloudz, and Dr. Luke. smh

While it's disappointing he said it in the first place, he got taken to task, and admitted he was wrong:

All right then, he can stay. Sucks that he had to be shamed into saying the right thing though.

Absolutely. And, re: what claypool was saying, 1000% agree:

Though apparently, the room was loving it. i read that was his second set of the night. he first dropped into a club on long island and got nothing from the crowd, then went to the cellar.

I like to think I'd leave but I suppose part of me would be curious about what he'd do. I might stay and turn my back.
(I'd probably just leave.)

Lauer and Batali too“I’ve been busy being a dad. But don’t worry, I’ll be back on TV,” he reportedly told a group of “older ladies” who told the former host they miss him. It won’t be at NBC, however, as reports emerged late last year that the network literally demolished his old office—the very same one where he was able to lock in guests via a button under his desk. Lauer’s hope for a comeback comes right on the heels of Louis CK’s go at rebooting his comedy career Sunday night, as well as Mario Batali’s desire to start a new company in the wake of his own sexual harassment scandal.

that also seems like the one time when the audience would be completely justified in heckling, especially along the lines of "tell us a joke about masturbating in front of colleagues and then blackballing them."

Honest question: do you think the info about Asia Argento has led to these dudes coming back out of the woodwork? I've been thinking about that since the news broke yesterday

I do not think they read about Asia Argento and all of a sudden thought, "well I guess everyone's ready to hear from me again!"

Nope, a group of people who have historically had a hard time hearing the word "no" are just getting restless and testing out their reputations again. When they walk out on stage and nobody tells them "no," they'll just keep going.

My friend and I were considering visiting the comedy cellar in October but I don't think I'll go now.

Well, Louis [C.K.] and Roseanne [Barr] are the two people I know. And Roseanne was so broken up [after her show's reboot was cancelled] that I got Louis to call her, even though Roseanne was very hard on Louis before that. But she was just so broken and just crying constantly. There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day. Of course, people will go, "What about the victims?" But you know what? The victims didn't have to go through that.
Ugh.
