I hope y’all bought tickets to this Idles tour because holy shit. Completely pulverizing punk show - but the crowd was full of support. Was incredible. Might be the sweatiest I’ve ever been post-concert in my life... feel bad for the folks who’ll be stuck with me on the train...

The Last Dinosaurs walked on stage to the Halo soundtrack. My new favorite band. I shouted out 'Need For Speed: Most Wanted!' and they were all "We Prefer Need For Speed Underground 1, mate."
10/10 would see again.

It's "the tamale guy". He hits up every bar that doesn't sell food, pretty much every night (it's actually a network of several guys, but they are collectively known as "the tamale guy"). He's like Santa, but with tamales. tamale guy showing up at delilahs was like heaven on earth This literally just happened to me and I can confirm

Anyone with a chance to see Television who is into the band should absolutely do so. One of the best “this is a band” shows I’ve seen in quite a while. The fact that they play to Tom’s reduced vocal range. Only played an hour cause I went to the first show but would’ve easily watched another one

last-minute went to jim james last night and enjoyed it as much as any of the 4 mmj shows i've seen. really kind of hard to compare, though, but i was in the mood for a meat-and-potatoes guitar rock show last night.

Haven’t listened to Lemonheads since high school but they were fantastic the other night. Basically all the hits plus choice covers (Prine, Misfits, Eagles). I’ve heard bad things obviously about Dando but he seemed in good shape relatively and sounded great, especially on the solo stuff.. Still v cute, kinda looks like showalter In og wet hot American summer tho dressing like a 16 yo boy in the 80s.
Went for Tommy Stinson who put on a real good long opening solo set, in good voice and good spirits. Amazing how many styles he’s cultivated over the years. A lot of Replacements shirts in the crowd.

I didn't go for a variety of reasons, but mostly because when I saw him last he seemed to hate being there and rushed through all the songs making them about 30 seconds each. Was he better with a band or was it still super rushed?

Was he better with a band or was it still super rushed? They definitely didn’t linger on the songs but it worked pretty great for power pop momentum. Certainly much better than a lot of bands from that era that play a 3 minute song than tune for 30 seconds. He also didn’t rush the solo stuff and did a fair amount of it. 90+ minute set and probably 20ish songs. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying playing the covers, including stopping to the the audience sing along to misfits and the eagles.

lemonheads / stinson are here in a few weeks and thought about going, but really wish stinson was with a band, not solo.

Hadn't seen Tool since 2010 and only went bc of the prospect of new music. It was fairly dull. Their production is dated, opting to reuse the 10k days laser show to distract from the poor effort. Sorry Maynard, but playing your music videos on the big screen doesn't come across as cool or creative, just lazy.
He used that voice manipulation device for like half the songs which was annoying. Could barely hear him most of the time. The biggest pop of the night was for the debut (on this tour) of Part of Me. Seat wise I had a decent view but kinda peeved that I paid 112 bucks to sit on a folding chair (thankfully cushioned, which is better than the Midland does) when the row right behind me had the comfier seats.
And my God. Forgot 90% of Tool's fanbase are hillbillies. People behind us went on and on about whether Tina Jo actually had Coke Zero in her cup.
Hard to assess the new music. Mainly bc I fell asleep during both. Never done that at a show. What I did pick up was that both were super long, and did little for the crowd. I'd need to hear them on record but neither had much crowd pleasing quality. Of the two Invincible was the more interesting and had a lot of Tool hallmarks.
The consensus from the group I was with, it was a "good" show, but it was obvious that the band didn't care. 8th time seeing Tool since 2002 and by far the worst.

Don't understand how y'all can fall asleep at shows you pay money to attend. Only thing I've ever done that at was I fell asleep at the first Thor movie way back when

It's only happened to me at festivals, and usually I can't tell if I actually fall asleep, I just feel sleepy and I close my eyes for a few minutes.

tim hecker show last night was sweet. sounded huge in thalia, and the flutes and percussion and such from the konoyo ensemble really added to his sound. also whole show wrapped up in 90 minutes with no break between opener and hecker which *chef's kiss*

I would not be opposed to that.

I would not be opposed to that. there was an opener listed for the tim hecker show, and she was the keyboardist in his ensemble so it all worked and made sense. holly herndon's first proto show is in nyc tomorrow night. looks like there is an opener listed for that. the nyc show is part of the red bull music festival, so it might be bigger there then it will be here, but it says: Red Bull Music Festival New York will host the premiere of Herndon’s pioneering new live show, PROTO. Showcasing music from her latest album, PROTO (4AD), which features critically-acclaimed electronic producer Jlin, the show also incorporates a fluid ensemble of 8 vocalists, Spawn (a nascent machine intelligence), machine learning specialists, choreographers, and visual artists. This multisensory experience will raise questions as much as it moves bodies.. sounds sick as hell.

I've fallen asleep at a fest because I laid down and intended on taking a nap. But yeah, can't fathom actually passing out on my feet at a show. I definitely wouldn't even be there if that was a possibility.

I've nodded off at many, many shows over the years, but never actually passed out. Since the Bottle is basically a big cave, it's probably happened there the most.
