Just to clarify when I say falling asleep, I dozed off during Descending for what I'm guessing was 2-3 minutes. It was very warm in the Sprint Center last night which definitely helped that.

Passion Pit were a lot of fun as usual last night. Plowed through all of Manners pretty quickly, Michael only stopped once or twice to talk. Thankfully he sounded pretty happy, which is pretty good news given his history. They went off stage for a minute (thankfully didn't pretend like it was an encore), and did the same last 5 songs they've been doing on the rest of the tour. No surprises unfortunately, but they were still great. Really great crowd there last night too, I was surprised since pale hose and I got surrounded by some brahs right before PP started.

Great show ! Sorry I couldn’t find you guys. Couldn’t really see on the floor, so we did the balcony and that was a party. Everybody was dancing.

Crowd went bonkers during that.

I've warmed up to it a lot, but didn't think anything from Kindred was a real favorite. It is a good chorus, live.

I’m at the Michigan Passion Pit show right now and the crowd seems much younger than I’d expect for a Manners show. I’d hazard a guess that Kindred was the first PP album a lot of them heard? Edit: Also, The Beaches are like a Canadian Haim?

That’s pretty fair. I think I was also subconsciously responding to the fact there are sisters in the band. I haven’t been to a show in almost a month, so I was happy that the opening band I’d never really heard of was fun

mountain goats q&a was great. lots of random metal and d&d trivia. they played 4 or 5 songs from the new album and it was really nice.
house of blues is still the worst (apps were good tho, thanks for the coupon rango!) but the contortionist was actually really good. kinda like a crossover the Ocean and Meshuggah but with clean vocals. i dug it. Animals as Leaders was much less obnoxious than i anticipated. i really liked it for a while -- similar style to pelican or russian circles -- but after about 30 or 40 minutes i was unable to tell the difference between the songs and the back half of the set got really repetitive.
wonderful day overall!

Mountain Goats opening with "No Children" with John singing from the balconies was an all timer moment. They sounded just about as good as ever last night.

Drab Majesty rules. Facs was good.
Garfield Park Conservatory is gorgeous. i wanna go back in the daytime but they had the whole place open tonight and it was amazing to explore.
they only had pacifico and you had to get tickets but it was pretty spacious and lines were non-existent
went to Exit Strategy brewery before and they still have the best fish tacos in the city.
at Scofflaw now.
so that's the Open Air hangover I've chosen to start with this in 2019

tops on my list right now is Big Star... have had carry out from both big star locations (never eaten in), and the fish tacos are ok, but big star is nowhere near my favorite taco place.

I still like Big Star, but yes I agree they are a little overrated. This is definitely the correct thread for this discussion.

Really excited to turn this into a taco review thread. To be fair, the thread title doesn't specify what we are reviewing.
