If it wasn’t already clear you should definitely be going to see Vampire Weekend on this tour. They were beyond amazing tonight. Somehow even better than that Lolla set (can’t speak to the aftershow). The new tracks sound so good, and I was amazed by how much I liked Sunflower with the jams. Went from a bottom half song to a top 5 pretty quickly. At the end of the day everything about this band just fucking works and it’s a joy to see it on stage.

Little Simz was great at Lincoln Hall last night. Don't think the show officially sold out but it definitely felt crowded enough where I would've believed it. Played with a full band, actually rapped all the words, what more could ya want? Can't wait to see her again at Bonnaroo

Catfish and the Bottlemen were so much fun last night. I love it when a band that plays arenas/stadiums in Europe and Australia comes to a half-sold 2,000-person venue in the midwest and puts as much energy into their show as they would anywhere else. Was definitely better to see them in that setting than the last few times I've seen them as mid-afternoon sets at Lolla. I was with a few friends who were unfamiliar with them but they're definitely fans now.
One surprise was I did not realize how crazy their fans are. There was a pretty sizeable line out front of the venue an hour before doors opened, and the entire pit knew every single word to every song. Was probably one of the better crowds I've been in in Indy.

Don't hate me for this, Dead and Company last night was an experience. I don't really consider myself a dead fan but I do love the dancing bears and the hits so when my friend's bf asked if I wanted to go, I said sure. The people watching was by far the best part of the night. Shakedown Street (sadly not the song) was interesting, to say the least, to walk through. Only knew about 2 or 3 songs and really don't like 80-minute guitar solos (can't wait for VW tomorrow) but it was definitely something to see I guess. John Mayer shreds on guitar which is cool. Would I do it again, probably not, but it was cool to see.

Dude, I'm so sorry to hear that, I had no idea. (re: bosma but also works for the prior post)
Bosma also very selflessly saved my bacon not once but twice last night, letting us cut in a long-ass line to get in and then spotting me cash to buy a t-shirt (what merch booth is cash only in 2019 even yard sales take square wtf) and then we didn't even get to hang at the show because my friend wanted to sit in the balcony. But, I finally got to meet his wife who was lovely and sassy and very welcoming.
I loved the show, it was v emotional. I thought the crowd was a bit dull but the experience was wonderful. I would see them any chance I get.

Misty was great as usual, thank you to rango420 for the sweet ticket exchange. It was a nice mix from all four albums, and he brought some of the banter back from the early days as well. Josh has such a great sense of humor I wish he would do more of that, but I understand he wants the focus to be on the music. As a completely unrelated side note, here's the pic my buddy took of me and Josh before his Riv show a few years ago. He sent it to me tonight at the show and I figured I would share it with the board. I'm not a very tall man, but man do I look short standing next to him. I told the story behind this pic on the old board, he could not have been a nicer dude to meet.

that's honestly the least "ironically pretending to like my fans but knowing im An Intellectual Lyricist" look he's ever given a camera, so massive kudos to you for making Josh seem friendly! im still a little upset i didnt stay in town for him and Emma Ruth Rundle and Masto/Coheed and all the good stuff this weekend but just watching movies and playing video games in the middle of nowhere has been the best Reset button i couldve asked for lol

He approached me and suggested just taking a proper pic together. He seriously could not have been a nicer dude, one of my top concert/music moments for sure.

Anderson East was great at Taste Of Randolph. His cover of “ Hungry Heart” was A+. I think th colder weather kept a lot Powell away from the fest so it was pleasantly not crowded.

It absolutely baffles me when people don't enjoy FJM's banter. Glad to hear he's bringing it back.
How was the weather for outdoor shows this weekend? I bailed on all of them.

That was one of the best shows I've seen in years. The new songs sounded terrific, and the extended versions of some were just absolutely perfect (especially "Jerusalem, New York, Berlin").
I loved the Paul Simon cover, and the stretch of "Sympathy">"Hannah Hunt">"Hold You Know">"Harmony Hall">"Diane Young" was bananas.
I didn't think we were getting "Ya Hey" after "Worship You", so that was a terrific surprise. Easily my favorite VW song.
I think I'm gonna go to Mo Pop in Detroit to see them again

VW delivered an incredible live experience as usual, and that was my favorite setlist of the tour. They're one of a handing of acts I will pay to see live every time they're in town, what a show.

It’s pretty cool that northerly recreated a shitty festival experience with none of the charm of an actual festival out on the lawn
