Outside of last year, where we only went because another couple offered to get our hotel if we went with them, we hadn't been in 3 years. It really just reinforced my thought that I'm too old and out of shape for 4 day festivals full of teenagers.

Not feeling too bad about not going again this year... I'll see a few sets on the webcast, and I have a different festival to go to on Saturday, and that's a-ok with me.
This will be the first time skipping this two years in a row, since it started as a Chicago festival though.

Even if I had wanted to go, which I didn't, court schedules have made it impossible for me. In effect, because the courts are basically closed during the upcoming DNC, all the month's cases have been crammed into the next 2 weeks. Had court yesterday for which I was retained late Tuesday, have court today, tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and maybe Wednesday. and a couple of more court days after that.
this is philosophically similar to when lawyers used to settle all their cases in the last part of Decembers, so they wouldn't have to carry them over into the new years.
would like to see rapper SIR on Sunday if the lolla single day prices weren't so high, so will just have to keep an eye on his future touring schedules.

They moved Chapelle Roan to the main stage and Kesha to IHG(Lakeshore) Pretty safely betting she will have the biggest crowd of the weekend, so that was a smart move |

The Chappell Roan crowd was absolutely insane. I think it might be the biggest crowd I've seen on the south field. The Kesha crowd was also pretty sizeable. And both crowds were super engaged. Singing every word. Dancing. As an old man who is minimally familiar with Chappell Roans music it was quite a sight to see. Megan Thee Stallion in comparison had a tiny crowd.
Other than the giant blister I got on my foot, it was a pretty solid day.

Chapell was great they really should have had her replace Tyler. The sound issues at Kesha were a bit of a bummer but still a fun time. Labrynth was insane. I didn't expect him to bring his Coachella production to Lolla. Also really enjoyed Blondshell and Tyla. Megan sounded good but I left around 9:30 to get ahead of the potential storm. Very good first day.
