I think Lucy Dacus and Young Fathers are at the top for me.

still haven't really loved a new record this year yet. I should give US Girls a few more listens though It's been a slow year for me too. Car Seat Headrest and awakebutstillinbed are the only ones that I find myself consistently going back to so far. Too early to rank but I think the only other albums I think I've registered multiple listens of are Lucy Dacus, Soccer Mommy, Khruangbin, and David Byrne

Nothing has yet to top Marie/Lepanto's Tenkiller for me so far, but I also am liking (to various degrees):
Lucius - Nudes (Not sure if this qualifies? It's mostly new recordings of their previous material and covers) First Aid Kit - Ruins Screaming Females - All at Once Lucy Dacus - Historian Brandi Carlile - By the Way, I Forgive You David Byrne - American Utopia Mia Dyson - If I Said Only So Far I Take It Back Yo La Tengo - There's a Riot Going On Buffalo Tom - Quiet and Peace

That Haley Henderickxx album is really really good. I’ve been listening to it a lot. There isn’t a bad track on there. It’ll probably end up pretty high on my list. I’ve always thought Brandi Carlile was good for a track or two but this new album is actually really solid.

How do you guys track what you listen to throughout the year? I have two spreadsheets, one with albums I want to listen to this year that I update once they’ve been announced (when they’re released I add their runtime to the appropriate column) and I have another sheet with all of the albums I listened to, whether i liked it or not, and whether it warrants a re-listen later. I feel like there has to be an easier way, like a Letterboxd for music or something

Mine is pretty technical, I keep a word document with a list of the albums I like the most

Most of my organization is in excel sheets. Being able to drag, drop, and insert new albums is the only way I can keep up enough for a year end list. I do like and use Last.fm as well though.

I have a playlist on Spotify of Best Albums for each year, New Albums that I'm on the fence about or haven't had a chance to really delve into. I also keep a Google doc to keep track of additional albums that aren't on Spotify (like No Age).

Man when I was first reading bosma's post I thought it was a joke but then I kept reading and now seeing the responses you guys are craaaaaaazy.
I guess it also helps that I look at other people's lists to remember albums, so thanks everyone.

last.fm is great though since i've started streaming on apple music it doesn't seem to scrobble from there which is annoying. i think you have to add everything to your library for it to scrobble which i can't possibly do without being super annoyed.
i dont really think last.fm is gonna last much longer tho.
