This is a competition to determine the best Martin Scorsese directed movie, to be conducted over the next few weeks. There are 26 contenders because I am only including narrative features and not documentaries. I'm still trying to figure out how to seed them, whether it's by most award nominations and wins or just do it fully random which may be fun for chaos.
There is a chance work picks up for me and this goes slower than your average competition on here, it's to be seen but apologies in advance if that happens. I will try to get this started with first match-ups going out by tomorrow

I would just defer to LB or IMDB rating for seeding. It's voted on by a bunch of mouth breathers but who cares

Films have been seeded. I used IMDB rating for that, and if there was a tie I used letterboxed as a tie breaker, and if there was a tie again (happened twice).
I'm about to post the first half of round 1 now actually. They won't lock until the Sunday night. I might throw up the rest of Round 1 tomorrow, we'll see.
6 films have byes in round 1. Also, my original list included "Obsession" on accident, that was only written by Scorsese not directed so its been removed
I used Challonge.com which auto decided my byes and match-ups, there is some stuff that may seem weird like round 1 has #16 vs #17 and winner will face #1 in round 2, but I think it works. I'll post the full bracket when it is over.

Round 3 is up. It will run until Monday morning at 9 AM so to once again give people a chance to watch some of these over the weekend if you'd like. I've been doing some watches and rewatches myself, did The Departed last night

Every Leonardo DiCaprio Scorsese movie has now been knocked off, and Robert De Niro stars in every remaining film, so I think De Niro wins the best Scorsese leading man competition within a competition
