NPR is simultaneously too liberal and full of Nice Proper Republicans depending on who you talk to. I have, for better or worse, have several of their podcasts and programs in my regular programing at this point. So I ask the board at large- is NPR good?

It’s reprehensible that they refused to call the “enhanced interrogation” at Guantanamo torture when pretty much every other major outlet would at the time and they aren’t without their issues outside of that, but public radio is a net positive for the culture at large. My local NPR station growing up gave me exposure to a wide array of classical music, A Prairie Home Companion, and special interest programming like Car Talk. It’s different in every city I’m sure, I know the Peoria station doesn’t play classical music anymore (much to my dad’s dismay), but I think it is still mostly good as far as “media in the US” goes

Fresh Air, Through Line, and This American Life are all podcasts I listen to on a regular basis. NPR is good.

Thankful that tweet is unafraid to tackle the tough questions like "are objectively good things good?"
