I don't want much in life anymore, but I'd love one of those big-ass showers with the built-in benches. I'd be shower sitting all the time.

I had to sit in the public showers in Japan and I didn't find it particularly comfortable to have to full spread eagle crouch on a tiny seat in the nude in public but presumably its more comfortable if your a smaller man. with that saidat no point did I think "I should sit in teh shower more". just wanna pace around soap off and sing a song and than get out of there

I find it extremely relaxing but I do more of a crouch/squat. Bare ass on the shower floor feels icky. Rarely do it since when I do I usually realize I've been doing it for like 15 mins I get so lost in thoughts.

As mentioned in the Reviews thread, my SIL is visiting us and broke her leg at the roller rink (on her birthday, no less). She actually broke her tibia in two places and also fractured a couple of ankle bones. She had a four-hour surgery last night involving plates and screws and such.

Anyway, when Mrs. Doso was visiting her at the hospital today the orthopedic specialist came in and was discussing (among other things) showering. Mrs. Doso ordered a stool for our shower stall (since the SIL can’t fly until Saturday at the earliest) and the specialist informed her that “most people” sit down in the shower.

I found this to be unbelievable and Mrs. Doso informed me that both my stepchildren sit down on the floor of our shower. Presumably this is at least in part facilitated by the fact that we have a detachable shower head. I’m moderately pissed off that these jerkbabies’ half hour long showers are due to sitting on the floor rather than, you know, the Actual Business of Showering. Especially given that they like to present themselves as environmentalists. /rant

sometimes i wear flip flops to do yardwork. when i shower after that, i might sit to scrub my feet clean. and our basement shower has a bench, so occasionally i shower down there and sit on the bench for a minute.
