I don’t do math but that sounds right, if only for the fact I didn’t know GameStop was worth (googles....) 347.51 a pop to certain people

If I would've listened to my friends, I would've made a lot of money.

Can someone explain the end game of the short squeeze to me. I get that they cost some hedge funds a giant sum of money and they now hold stock that has quite a bit of value. But, when the sell off begins, the stock will drop and all those potential profits disappear, right? I believe the hedge fund has options that expire relatively soon. Plan is to hold as long as possible, cost them a ton of money, and then dump ASAP, with most people paying attention making a decent to exorbitant amount of profit in the end

But, when the sell off begins, the stock will drop and all those potential profits disappear, right? Normally in a short squeeze the "squeezers" sell their shares after the shorters are forced to buy theirs (forcing the stock price even higher), which nets the squeezers a tidy profit and then the stock price comes crashing back down. In this instance however, WSB doesn't seem inclined to sell anytime soon, at least not yet, so I'm not sure exactly how this will play out.

Robinhood is no longer allowing purchases of the Reddit endorsed stocks like GameStop, AMC and Blackberry. The fix is definitely in.

I know this is like a joke but it also kinda feels like a modern day storming of Versailles. Curious how this will be seen in terms of social movements and what could happen long term.

what could happen long term. probably a bunch of regulations that prevent robinhood style traders from ever doing this again

Would buy some puts long out (like July) but not possible since I closed my robinhood account a few years back and takes 3-5 days to reopen.

I don't do meme stocks. I've been holding AAPL, MSFT, and AMZN for years and have had great returns. All are stable and have promising growth. Would still recommend buying.
