This discussion spurred me to check my 401k balance for the first time in quite a while. Had a huge bump in my balance. Thanks for making me check, neader!

I invested no risk (straight savings with match) at my first job which was maybe dumb but when 9/11 happened I was the only one in our department who wasn't totally fucked. Since then I've upped my contributions to the max but I'm pretty sure I'm still going to be working forever.
Also I still need to roll over my 401k from my last job so this was a god reminder.

Since I am an old, I have moved most of my investments (through deferred comp and an IRA) into very conservative funds. I also have one of those sweet government defined benefit retirements that gets those anti-government people into a frothing rage so I am feeling pretty good about where I am at there. Of course, having to pay child support for the next 8 years plus college after that means I will die in my job.

I became eligible for a 401k through my job in October am I right to feel that I and my former colleague, "R," are indirectly responsible for this?

I've been working with a financial advisor since college, and that's helped me with my investments. I don't do single stocks, though. Only debt to my name at this point is the house, too. Hoping to retire early.

I have a 401k through my work but I rarely check it. About 20 years ago my parents got me stock in Disney as part of a birthday gift, I've never touched that either. It has split a few times and has turned into a nice emergency fund, should I ever need it.

Like all of crypto got fucked today I didn't put that much because I knew the risks and i knew it'd be dumb, but I did let myself get talked into putting a little bit of money into various cryptos and I feel really dumb right now Should have just bought AMZN

If you are in this for the long haul, why wouldn't you buy index funds instead of specific stocks? I know the latter is better content for the board and I don't want to jeopardize that, but I'm curious.

Cannabis stocks have been taking a hit too. I put a good amount in one, was planning on being in on it for the long haul anyways so not too concerned, but I definitely didn't "buy low".

I think the best investment you can make this year is buying as many 1 day passes as you can for the day Bruno plays Lolla, because I'm thinking the resale market for those might be kind of healthy.

Also like if you're implying I'm doing this as just a charade and to be funny go back and read literally my first post in here. Sorry if that's aggressive. Not trying to come across as Anime.
