Depending on how much you’re investing, that could be not very much at all in theory.

Well I'm initially engaging him to just roll over my 401k because I am too lazy to do it myself but then I might have him do some retirement planning and move around some money.

Honestly I'm pretty woefully ignorant about a lot of that stuff but I got pretty excited talking to him about it. I'm old and shits getting real, I gotta retire eventually.

I feel like I understand just enough to know what I don't know, and that makes me terrified of messing it up!

I have a financial advisor who manages my $. I have a weird situation because I am legally restricted from investing in a pretty wide class of stocks because of my job. His fee is 1%, but he actively manages my allocations, which I was never good at, so I am happy to pay it.

I feel like there are people who actively enjoy doing that, so I should just pay them to do it and then we both win.
This guy would review my allocations bianually, does that seem like a lot/ not enough?

I will do it for free. I can make four figures turn into three figures like you wouldn't believe.

A good advisor will reach out to you more frequently only as needed.

Never really participated in this thread because I’m super amateur and don’t have a lot of skin outside of retirement accounts, but I finally did a good.
Uxin, the Chinese used car e-commerce platform, came under fire for allegedly falsifying sales data to manipulate internal trading in a report by J Capital Research. Uxin released a strong statement denying the allegations and proved that the CEO has never sold any shares. The aftermarket price jumped significantly overnight, and I bought 1000 shares at 1.90 the next morning.
Sitting around 3.40 now, breaking every wall the last two days with nothing stopping it from breaking 5.00 after this one.
This is fun.

Currently up 19% in the past year and 30.94% YTD. Putting a third of my portfolio into AAPL in early January has paid off nicely though to be fair everything is up since then.

Yes, 1Q19 is likely not going to be representative over the long term. Still...you might consider taking some profits or move your stops higher. The rubber band is stretching again (IMO). When it snaps, it's going to hurt.

Sitting around 3.38 until EOD is my guess. Don't really know what I'm doing. If I had more access to fun graphs and whatevers I'd probably be inclined to play it some more, but I'm just dicking around on my phone while at work. Probably going to put some time into learning some things.

Full Disclosure: I can't match your those YTD returns so my commentary might not be welcome here, but if you're making those screaming gains as the market continues to make high after high, for the love of God consider taking some of those profits off the top...or, move your stops up so that you stay green when the party is interrupted.

Biggest single day gain of my life today (and I've been at this for a long while). Thanks ROKU.
Just one Trump tweet away from giving it all away tomorrow, of course.

10 Million subscribers. It doesn't sound like a number to justify a 7% bump in valuation, but what do I know.

I agree and doubt it'll sustain but I still think it's going to perform well in coming years. Holding the shares I bought last week.
