I just showed up. On the left, but just past the speakers. Haven’t seen anyone I recognize yet. But I’m here 👍

Neader trying to argue The Strokes are a more significant and influential band than Nirvana is making me not wanna camp for this Boxer set.

Guys let’s talk about this fest really quick.
Top to bottom, this lineup was definitely interesting. A lot of people said it was missing a big act or two, and at the time I agreed. However after experiencing this weekend, the format with no overlaps between the two stages is near perfect. On top of that, FJM and Feist both kiiiillled it as far as sub spots go. Both of those National sets were pretty magical. I don’t know if it’s always like that, but experiencing this as my first two National sets in a row was wild. If what Xam was saying was right, and this is the only time they play Boxer in full in the US, that’s pretty fucking awesome. It was already very special, even if they do it again in the future.
Speaking of special, all the board folks I met this weekend were amazing. This was my first “big” board event where I’d be around a bunch of board folks for a long period of time. I was very nervous that people were going to actively be trying to avoid me this weekend. However, everyone welcomed me with open arms and was incredibly nice and fun to be around. I had an amazing time with each and every one of you and I can’t wxpress how much I appreciate you guys all being so welcoming to me. It meant a lot.
Anyways now that I’m done with all that sappy shit, this fest was great, I hope they do it every year. If they do I will definitely go.

This fest was real real good, and it was very nice to meet some folks from the boards after not doing it for a long time. Ya'll were great. I would also definitely come back to Cincy every year to do this. My joke with my irl friends (that I also made a couple times today) was that I was gonna see my favorite band play for 4 hours and still be upset about some songs they didn't play. The setlists were very good, but also I would have liked a song (at least 1!) from Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers

That was such a fantastic fest. Great location and lineup, pretty well organized though the food lines were pretty long, overpriced and not great tbh.
Was really great to meet you guys too. You were all really welcoming and friendly, was great to hang with you for that incredible National set.

1. The National (night 2) 2. The National (night 1) 3. Mouse on Mars 4. Feist 5. Future Islands

Fest was a total #LitUpTuation. The layout worked and the place seemed sold-out but manageable. Food was bad and prices were fairly egregious all around; $8 Rhinegeists is silly when the brewery is like two miles away. I found the merch tent real bizarre, too. It was super small and had 95% Natl/Homecoming merch and then like one FJM shirt, an Alvvays vinyl, and nothing else. I feel like it was a strange missed opportunity for all of the artists and wonder how they decided on that.
Anyway, good fest. Had fun with everyone. Would go again but am kind of expecting it to be purposefully a one-off.

Hmm, they just sent out a survey and this is interesting
Would you be willing to share with us how it went and where we can grow the festival for 2019 and beyond?

The end of the survey basically confirms Homecoming 2019 so let's get the hype-train a'running. I could definitely see them doing just one headlining night and give the other to Bon Iver or Sufjan.

In the survey they ask for three acts you'd want to see at a future Homecoming. Please everyone put Robyn three times.
