It looked like Canada really had a chance there. But them Kiwis are dominant.
It looks like Chicago has a WPL team? Had no idea.
Aaaaa medal ceremony

Also, not convinced Colin jost getting a staph infection while covering surfing in Tahiti isn’t just some bit Lorne Michaels cooked up. Or possibly Andy Kaufman

Woke up early to watch the men's triathlon. The swimming portion in the Seine is a nice novelty, but I felt bad for the guys being forced onto one side of the buoys who would likely get dinged on their times because of it. The bike and run portions were just me pointing at the screen and screaming "I've been there!"

US women's fencing wins team foil gold at the same time Andy Murray ends his illustrious career. I love the Olympics.
And I'm still salty about Chicago losing to Rio.

Looking forward to the replay tonight. I enjoyed watching WNBA “rookie” Vanloo play when she was in town with the Mystics earlier this year.

Gray and Taurasi combined for 0 points, 3 assists, and a rebound. That isnt great! Truly don’t know why Taurasi is on the team other than legacy, much less starting. I’d rather see Ionescu for another ball-handler, or Jackie Young start and avoid the defensive liability.

Seemed like she was playing well the first half of the season but she’s looked more her age in the Olympics. Surprised she logged 14 minutes yesterday; it felt like she was on the court for the first few minutes and then rode the bench for the second, third and fourth quarters.

I’ve been really impressed with how good she’s been for the Mercury this year and I think that’s taken some calculated rest/maintenance/scheming not possible in tournament play.

My admiration for the Olympic streaming experience on Peacock just ballooned even further. Got home after being out this morning and tuned into the U.S./PR men’s basketball game, figuring I’d catch most of the fourth quarter. When I pulled it up, there was an option to watch key plays. I selected it and now I’m enjoying ~14 minutes of highlights *while the game is still being played*. Very impressed.

If you haven't had the opportunity yet, I'd highly suggest watching the 1500 m men's final from yesterday. One of the best races I've ever seen.

Hocker getting blocked in the last 100, having to slow down, and then still managing to outsprint everyone is about as remarkable as it gets.

Olympic breaking (aka breakdancing) starts in about 10 min and I am oddly excited. Partly for the dancing but also for the competitor names. The US women are represented by Sunny and Logistx, the latter who is doing for all the Fil-Am homies across the country and the diaspora.
