I got The White Stripes because I think they're the best band on this list of four bands.

Japandroids and White Stripes. I actually like Japandroids the most out of that last (minus their last album), and the white stripes, because they had a lot of great songs (and a ton of filler I didn't care about). Never cared about the Black Keys. No Age had some stuff I've liked, but that previous album completely turned me off. Still haven't listened to the new one because no spotify.

The White Stripes were the first non-classic rock band I got into. It was my first foray into modern music. I remember hearing Elephant in full for the first time and being blown away. Weirdly enough I only sought it out because I heard “It’s True That we Love One Another” from a friend and thought it was neat sounding. I pretty much immediately bought all their CDs and got my dad into them as well. Something about their raw sound was really appealing to me at the time because everything I heard was so heavily produced and clean sounding. I was a pretty conservative kid but I loved how it sounded rebellious and just didn’t give a fuck.
I picked Japandroids because I listened to their first couple albums a bunch in high school and liked them a lot. Have yet to really get into No Age though I’m sure that’ll happen soon ish. The Black Keys are fine and I like “Little Black Submarines” a lot but it feels like they ride on the coattails of much better artists every time I hear them.

Oh I thought this was just bad garage rock bands - I didn't know that it was duos.
In that case the answer is Tuck and Patti

The White Stripes simply b/c they really didn't have a bad album. Some were better than others but there are redeeming qualities about each one. Now if he could just stop making solo records and avoid tarnishing their reputation, that'd be great.
No Age has 3 excellent albums, and one okay album, and a great compilation. They experiment more and offer a more exhilarating listen.
The Black Keys haven't made a listenable album in over a decade, and even then, its like an every other album type of deal. Japandroids were solid, but the new one just wasn't that great, and I don't see them rebounding.

Hall & Oates >>> everyone
Went with the White Stripes / Japandroids here. The Black Keys (with Arctic Monkey opening) were my first real concert, but the White Stripes did their shtick better, earlier - and De Stijl and Celebration Rock are better than anything The Keys ever did. Plus the latter has been my official drinking album for the last three years, so there's that...

White Stripes and No Age. The former has the memorable songs, the latter has the experimentation/noise rock work going on, which makes them more interesting than the other two choices.
Would've voted Lightning Bolt if it were an option.
