I didn't realize we were including the old 90s touring fests. I was at OzzFest 96 & 97.

No Lilith Fair for me but I was at a Sarah solo show in the late 90s. I regret nothing.

Lolla ‘11 Lolla ‘12 Roo ‘13 Lolla ‘13 LouFest ‘13 Laneway Detroit SXSW ‘14 Coachella ‘14 Roo ‘14 Riot Fest ‘14 Shaky Knees ‘15 Coachella ‘16 Riot Fest ‘16 FYF ‘17 Riot Fest ‘17 Homecoming
Real amateur numbers compared to most of you... I think Lolla ‘12 and ‘13 had two of my favorite lineups. Roo ‘14 as well. My first Coachella may have been the most fun/memorable fest experience overall, though.

Not that the Beastie Boys book needs another plug, but this thread reminds me there's a story in the book about how Perry was allegedly letting the Beasties and Billy Corgan pick the rest of the bands on the 94 lineup. Artist curation was more communal in the pre-C3 days. Alas.

Lolla: '09, '10, '11, '12, '13, '14, '15, '16, '17, '18 (yep, 10 years running) Coachella: '12, '13, '14, '15, '16, '17, '18 (not going this year) ACL: '17, '18 The Meadows: '17 Gov Ball: '17 Landmark: '15 (the one and only) Virgin Freefest: '09, '10, '11, '13 Rock the Bells: '10 Voodoo: '17 Broccoli City: '17 Warped Tour: '08
Virgin is set to launch a new festival somewhere on the east coast, and rumors keep pointing to the DC area. Nothing will ever be as accessible as Freefest, but I'd definitely welcome the return of a major, multi-genre festival to the area.

I have the individual shows written down, I just didn't consult my list when I made the festival list. I really only went to 1 night/3 shows but the run of Big Thief-> BADBADNOTGOOD -> Animal Collective was super fun and shows up in my list as those 3 shows.

Some standouts for me were Moogfest (basically every year)*, my first Coachella (2010)**, The Ultimate Groop Roo (2013), Day For Night (16 & 17), and Primavera for best fest eveeer. Also I guess that Sasquatch thing was up there too HM: Sustain Release (took me like a month to process that shit), FYF '16, and Ceremonia '17 for the insane run of Nico Jaar -> Bjork -> Underworld with a lit as hell Mexico City crowd. *So many memorable sets from this fest. Crying at Jonsi, Massive Attack, Moby with a full live band, Disclosure in a tiny bar, Chic, a crazy good MIA set, Death Grips in the Orange Peel, so many solid DJ sets, noise & art installations, weird AF durational sets. Swoon. **Specifically re that coachella, I don't know if I'll ever top Friday where I got to see Gil Scott-Heron at sunset (!!!!!) -> my first time seeing LCD Soundsystem -> Fever Ray. I wasn't ready for the glory.

Other St. Louis street and neighborhood fests, but those are the main ones. are you old enough to have attended the Veiled Prophet fair in downtown StL, before people realized that the veiled prophet had something to do with the Ku Klux Klan, and cancelled it?

Been to many of those throughout the years, now called Fair St. Louis. Some of the recent acts I've seen there include Blondie, Sammy Hagar, Eddie Money, George Clinton & P Funk and more garbage, radio friendly bands.
They still host a VP Ball here every year.
