I used to live in Naperville, and the answer is...yes, people will pay top dollar to see those acts.

$25 per day for GA admission, are these acts still a draw in Naperville? Have you been to Naperville? I try to avoid it if possible.

Have you been to Naperville? I try to avoid it if possible. Probably for the best. Worth visiting Solemn Oath, though.

ooooo shit!
21st ANNUAL HIDEOUT BLOCK PARTY:
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 23 - SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24, 2017
Celebrating 60 years since Sputnik AND the 20th Anniversary for Electrical Audio!
From Saturday September 23 through Sunday September 24, The Hideout will celebrate its 21st birthday (we’re adults now?!) with the people who got us here!
On Saturday we will host a Sputnik party. That little Soviet satellite, launched in 1957, just happens to coincide with the birth of a group of friends also in longtime orbit, including Eleventh Dream Day's Rick Rizzo, Skull Orchard's Jon Langford, Antietam's Tara Key, 75 Dollar Bill's Rick Brown, and Condo F*ck's Ira Kaplan, who will all be performing with their bands!
The Sputnik party will launch with Plastic Crimewave Vision Celestial Guitarkestra (dozens of guitarists filling the street for our annual ritual drone) followed by the Illinois Humanities Crowd-Out-Chicago 2nd Ward Choir, performing an original piece followed by singing a massive “Happy Birthday” to the Hideout, Sputnik, and our sonic spelunking 60 year-olds!
Sunday morning comes early with Steve Albini throwing a 20th Anniversary Party for Electrical Audio Studio! Bands will be banging from high noon to sundown, all in raucous celebration of that little studio on Belmont that has given us so much musical nirvana, (and actually Nirvana!) Confirmed bands include Danielson, Nina Natasia, Screaming Females, Man, or Astroman?, Meat Wave, Shannon Wright, Pinebender, FACS and Mint Mile

I've never seen them, so if we're around I'd like to go. That's a good lineup.

yeah i hadn't listened to Screaming Females before the frozen dancing set and they were great.
i had no idea YLT had a covers-only band. that's neat. (is it more uppity/fun than YLT? i'm not a big fan -- but not like, goodson level of hatred of them)

Still holding out for the Goose Island Urban Block Party lineup before making any decisions about that weekend.

One of the Goose Island folks at their beer garden at P4K tipped off some of the non-headliner acts...let's just hope they bring out some more rare bcbs variants.

I wonder if they had booking issues this year? They usually announce their lineup in late June/early July.

Can't stop listening to Charly Bliss so I'll be at Wicker Park Fest on Sunday. Only other band I've heard of is JEFF the Brotherhood. Anybody have any other recommendations for that day?

Coathangers are really fun goofy garage punk stuff. Brick + Mortar are a decent bass/drum dancy thing. Pokey LaFarge is old school americana and whatnot. basically im getting v drunk sunday and going ham for JEFF but will be out and about all day. GBV might be the only thing i care about saturday (except doomtree but i think they conflict) and i wanna go to Negative Approach at Cobra so...eh. it'll depend how many of y'all show up to my place again to pregame

I'll be at Piebald because I loved Piebald when I was 15 but It's hard for me to just go ahead and just recommend them because I assume you are not 15. Pokey Lafarge is great and I definitely recommend him and would be seeing him under any other circumstance. The Coathangers are pretty good. Malcolm London is definitely worth seeing. Slim Cessna's Auto Club have been around for a million years and are kind of fun but of the three headliners I certainly wouldn't put them first

Unless they did a show here in 2010 when they reunited for a minute I'm pretty sure I was at the last Piebald show in Chicago in 2007. Going to wear my shirt and look like a moron
