this comes with some extremely high expectations, but i thought it was great once it got going. airtight script, great acting. as much as i enjoyed bette davis, i'd also like to see an alternate timeline version with barbara stanwyck playing margo.

This was an amazing Korean film that was a direct influence on Parasite. Highly recommend if you enjoyed one of the best films of the past decade and perfectly scratched my itch as I wait for Parasite to get on Hulu next week. It's called The Housemaid (1960).

The second one is a through-and-through total bloodbath. These haven't really dipped in quality at all, I just didn't prefer the story of the third one (save for the insane ending sequence) edit: nevermind you're talking about when they're going through the desert stabbing the guys hidden under the mats. agreed - one of the coolest fucking things ever.

I was once in charge of putting together a playlist for a roadtrip with E years ago. I put together an actual one and then one that was just "Let's Get Together" 50 times in a row.

Inside Out Mission: Impossible - Fallout 2 Fast 2 Furious Ratatouille Apostle Fast Five You Don’t Mess With the Zohan Love & Mercy
Empire Records Can’t Hardly Wait Final Destination 5 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
21 & Over The Fast and the Furious Fast and Furious Charlie’s Angels (2019) He’s Just Not That Into You Hitch Torque Final Destination 3 Must Love Dogs Final Destination Valentine’s Day Final Destination 2 Project X The Final Destination
Surprisingly FD5 rocks hardcore. The ending is capital B Bananas. As shown on my Best Of Decade list, I already knew Fast Five was gonna slap. It still slaps.
FD marathon has ended. Somehow there are still four more Fast/Furiouses. We’re also tacking on xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

She did not think it was as funny as I did but I every time I ask if she wants to listen to some music I alternate between choosing that and "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars.

the Cursed Films episode on the Exorcist last night was w/e. nothing you haven't already heard
watching The Exorcist and Exorcist 3 back to back was phenomenal tho and made for a great evening. had to put on Ninth Configuration after just to finish the 'trilogy.' the new blu ray i got of it looks great and blatty's commentary is so wholesome.

Oh no I'm done now what do I do 1. Videdrome 2. The Brood 3. Dead Ringers 4. Map To The Stars - I imagine he called this his last film because of what a pain in the ass it was to put out but it kind of worked as a coda to his filmography. I know as a director he is anti-authorship but it kind of walks thru all of the themes of his films, while framing it in a fucked up world that he can tell to piss of, while still being funny, gruesome and than in its coda effectively emotional for maybe the first time all film series while never not being extremely fucked. A really special weird fucked up dark movie 5. The Fly 6. Cosmopolis 7. Naked Lunch 8. Crash 9. Eastern Promises 10. History of Violence 11. Rabid 12. Shivers 13. Spider 14. M Butterfly 15. The Dead Zone 16.Existenz 17. A Dangerous Method 18. Scanners 19. Fast Company 20. Stereo 21. Crimes of the Future

The Julianne Moore farting scene was GOAT obviously but putting it fourth is a capital T take. I liked it more than the discussion here lead me to believe I would, however. Underrated movie.

Actually got to watch 2 movies today and parts of 2 others.
The Hunt was dumb but fun. Rise of the Skywalker was dumb and not fun for the 20 minutes I watched. Watched 15 minutes of Bad Boys For Life and am undecided on continuing.
Aliens is on HBO but its the extended cut with lots of extra unnecessary crap and some seriously cheesy parts that I'm glad were removed.

No offense to Fritz Lang ty for the German expressionism or whatever but Paul Verhoeven made Showgirls I probably won't do the whole syllabus here but I watched Elle yesterday and I have to say it wasn't what I was expecting really but it was thought provoking and sharp nonetheless. Worth watching if only to see Isabelle Huppert really cook.
