Verhoeven Rankings 1. Turk Fruit- The opening 10 of this film are truly insane and its kind of shocking how this settles into a sweet and heavy movie while never losing the mean, cruel, punishing energy. Also, Rutger Hauer is kind of impossibly hot in this movie. 2. Wat Zien Ik Just of the ones I've watched in the last month-- 1. RoboCop 2. Turkish Delight 3. Elle 4. Business is Business I'd recommend any of them. Excited to see the really problematic Dutch movie (Spetters), to see Basic Instinct and Showgirls for the first time somehow, and in particular to revisit Starship Troopers. These should all be fun or at the very least engaging watches.

Also the nudity parity in Turkish Delight is very progressive. He really made Rutger Hauer hang dong a lot.

Watched Branded to Kill. I think it's the first yakuza film I've seen and I was not expecting it to be so surreal.

When is the right time to watch Fire Walk With Me in relation to the rest of Twin Peaks it's a prequel but technically between seasons 2 and 3 will make the most sense to the plots of the affected characters it is also really really good and got unfairly shit on back in the day because it wasn't as soap opera-y as the show and was clearly an indication of where Lynch wanted to the take story (and finally got to in S3)

Inside Out Mission: Impossible - Fallout 2 Fast 2 Furious Fast and Furious 6 Ratatouille Furious 7 Apostle Fast Five You Don’t Mess With the Zohan Love & Mercy F8 of the Furious Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw
Empire Records Can’t Hardly Wait Final Destination 5 The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
21 & Over The Fast and the Furious Fast and Furious Charlie’s Angels (2019) He’s Just Not That Into You Hitch Torque Final Destination 3 Must Love Dogs Final Destination Valentine’s Day Final Destination 2 In Time Project X The Final Destination
I already posted the FF rankings but I feel the need to clarify that each one is still good and fun.
In Time is technically a movie. It stars Justin Timberlake and he is bad at acting. I wanted this to be a fucking insane trip but it is just boring and serious and everything about it is flaccid. Pete Campbell is in it basically playing Pete Campbell and it made me wonder where he’s been and why we don’t see more Pete Campbell in our lives.

Is Insidious available on any streaming platforms? Saw a bunch of folks posting about it and would like to watch it again.

I don't know if it's a movie technically but I watched Lewis Black's "Old Yeller- Live at the Borgata". Lewis was/is my favorite comedian and even though it was shot in 2013 about 75% of the material is still relevant to this time, which was surprising as hell to watch.
I will watch either National Lampoon's Vacation or Booksmart tonight, maybe, who can say

I obviously haven't seen it but if rewatching the Cronenberg movies has taught me anything, it's that even professional film crtics can be really really really stupid when presented with something challenging or idiosyncratic.
I'm about twenty hours of Twin Peaks away from even thinking about watching it, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Verhoeven Rankings 1. Turk Fruit 2. Wat Zien Ik 3. Keetja Tippel - I kind of wish this had the original ending vis a vis the wikipedia page but the performances were effective and the messaging was there and its a very good movie that could've been great.

"Arsenic and Old Lace".... wacky stuff. Darker than I expected, though I'm not sure why that is when arsenic is in the title.

I was cool with him hamming it up considering how nutty the whole tone is. But my favorite part of his performance was toward the end when he crashes and is rambling on the stairwell totally worn out.
