It's good, but I don't think it's a landmark by any means. I dug Get Up 10, I Like It, Best Life (w/ Chance), and I Do (w/ SZA). There was better stuff last week imo, Hop Along, Kali Uchis, and Goat Girl.

controversial take here but i think its ok that a music forum discusses music i basically don't want to hear anyone on this forum say anything about music anymore so this is a fair take. but an extreme case of pitchfork almost entirely ignoring a genre and than giving an album an astronomically high rating is a board MO discussion topic. |

The Cardi B album was better than the 30 Seconds To Mars album but worse than the Sarah Shook record i think those are the 3 albums I listened to that were new last week I hope that helps hte discourse

I saw Cardi B's SNL performance and it didn't inspire me to check out the record. Not really my jam.
The Sarah Shook album is tite. Lots of good moments on the Hopalong record, too.

i think i liked the saba album more but they're both really good!
it would probably be my favorite release of any other week of the year because i don't like listening to new music anymore

not related to the album, but...does anyone find Cardi's speech patterns strange? Radio in the Taxi on the way home tonight this was an entire game segment: they playwr her taking and callers had to try and decipher it. I literally couldn’t even understand her |

Cardi B and Saba's new albums were both great, but Loud Patterns by Makeness was far and away the best album from last week.
