One year ago today, as the OG Lolla board was counting down the final days of its existence, Xamnam took matters into his own hands and created The Board Dot. The Board Dot provided more than just a haven for music fans victimized by C3's senseless act of neglect, it improved upon the boarding experience and morphed into a sustainable member-supported model. Kudos to Xam for creating and maintaining this place. And cheers to everyone else for championing a wealth of incredible new music (and other wonderful things) that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. This community is rich with great art, good humor, empathy, helpful tips and much more. I remain grateful to be a part of it. |

damn already a year? still pleasantly surprised that we all flocked over, I've seen stuff like this happen in the past and when people try to create new boards it doesn't work.

Wow, a whole year! I say this plenty but thanks to this board for accepting me into the group. I think I was a little intimidated by the number of people on the old board, plus I got laughed at for going to Hamilton so I was worried my opinions would be shut down. I've had a good year of discussions, jokes, and new friends, which I didn't really think I was capable of making at this point in my life.It's been great to meet some of you in person at shows and fests. Excited for many more years!

bosma were you on the old board? I joined the old board in late 2015 after lurking a little while. I posted around 120 times or so at most over the course of 2016. I read through some old threads at the time to try and get in on some of the jokes so I felt fairly well versed in some of them. Established myself as an obnoxious downstate presence right off the bat on the new board. |
