Live Drugs is cool. It brought back memories of that one pitchfork which was just horrendous... Everyone the first two days, even the people who make good music, just fucking sucked shit. And then War on Drugs basically got the weekend back on track and the last day ended up being good iirc. circuit des yeux->raphael saadiq->this is not this heat->the war on drugs was a ripper of a day.

Im laying in bed listening to Punisher right now and it’s so weird to me that it came out in June this year. It feels like forever ago. Also. What an album

bumping 'cracked rear view' through the cassette player at my desk and it might as well be nineteen-ninety-fuckin'-five

bumping 'cracked rear view' through the cassette player at my desk and it might as well be nineteen-ninety-fuckin'-five I still enjoy 'Hold My Hand', and 'Let Her Cry', but I hate 'Only Wanna Be With You'. They played in Columbia in the fall of '96. I went b/c it was something to do. They Might Be Giants opened.

This Mary Lattimore album was an absolutely perfect choice for my first listen of the day.

I listen to this every time I have to build new IKEA furniture, sort of becoming a mini-tradition now. Emma and I also bumped Sinead's greatest hits, Hounds of Love, The Unforgettable Fire, High Voltage, and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Then I threw on some Bat Out Of Hell which she was not a huge fan of, but I thought was rad as hell while assembling dresser drawers.

I'm a fan. It hasn't quite hit me like my favorites of his output, but it's probably just below that in my opinion? The arrangement and composition aspects are as good as anything he's done, but it doesn't quite have the weight. There's probably something to be said for him not putting out an overwrought mess after a long hiatus, though.
It's a really satisfying, comfortable album, which I don't think he's really done before.

I was really anticipating it being a pile of shit so I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't a huge fan of the last one however many years ago that was so it was nice to hear something good from them again. I would really like to see them live, I've never gotten a chance before and was really looking forward to that this year.

I'm curious about what they had in mind for the tour as far as personnel goes. There are so many fun appearances on the record that really work and I loved their shows from the Cassadaga era when they had a shit ton of people in the band.

What’s Bright Eyes play next time. The Riv?

They used to play the Riv in the heyday. If they opt for club shows again, my guess would maybe be two shows there or the Chicago Theatre? I have a hard time gauging demand for them.

I’m thinking the plan was to sub Lolla before the foo fighters or something along those lines. Just a guess

Hadn't thought about the Chicago Theatre (remember the Chicago Theatre?). That sounds right to me but I've never gotten into 'em

Doing some listening to listmas discoveries today, but I’ve really just been obsessed with SAULT’s Rise and Manger on McNichol’s all week.
