Pretty good on the first listen I'm a big fan of his last two albums but this is about as bored as I've been listening to an album in a while.

I'm not too far into it but I like it so far.

Celebrating Cure release week by trying to go through a bunch of them. This one is pretty great

Tyler’s 4 out of his last 4. Perhaps an all time run

Still a stunner Everytime I hear this album it slays me. Idk if it has the gas to top Cindy Lee, but it's firmly an AOTY contender round these parts. "Ogallala" in particular is haunting. The best song about how it feels to be alive and young-ish during *gestures broadly at the world* all of this shit.

Wrong thread, but Tyler has entered the conversation for AOTY. Manning Fireworks is up there as well as a few others. Really solid year for music.

Me too, and I've felt diminishing returns on his stuff since Flower Boy

I listened to it again and I enjoy tracks 1-5 and then it just bores the shit out of me, not sure what it is. I find myself wanting to skip the songs.
Loved The Cure album. All I ever Am is my favorite.

Feeling my enjoyment of the new Tyler starting to cool a little bit. I like it, but his last three were just so much better imo.
The Cure album is great surprise.
Mount Eerie's Night Palace is fantastic for any Phil Elverum fan, but I could def see it being a tall order for casual fans. I will say, even at it's mammoth length (80 mins) this is probably his most accessible album, possibly ever. I love it naturally, and would consider it a spiritual successor to The Glow Pt 2.

It’s been such a fucking long time. It’s been on repeat all day. It's magnificent. "And Nothing Is Forever" is instantly one of my fave songs of the year.

I have the day off today so I’m planning on just walking around Brooklyn for like 4 hours listening to Haley Heynderickx and Hurray for the Riff Raff on repeat. Cheers.

Been mostly listening to blown-out jazz all day, and a little Abdullah Ibrahim for a balm. Last time I was all Dead Kennedys / Avengers, etc. the day after, but today I'm generally over the punk rah-rah reactions to these events. But, then again, I was 21, more naive, and just realizing the world was broken in a big way. Now, this is just the way it is, and we can only do our best to support each other amidst wave after wave of shit.
But I was reminded of this song and it's really hitting. Pick up the pieces. Sort your trash.

Yeah that Foxing album is one of the surprises of the year for me. Like I said in the reviews thread I mentally lumped them in with bands I don't care about like Cage the Elephant, but I was very wrong about that.
