The more time goes in the more I think this is their best Ive got it scored 2nd but this is not an unreasonable take on its merits. 2 of the top 5 spiritualized songs on this album tho

Listened to Callahan + Witscher - Think Differently and I think I'm obsessed. Basically like if Lonely Island wrote a record about being a veteran experimental musician, then channeled it through glitchy pop filters, replete with the best sampling I've heard in a minute (peep the Taco Bell chime halfway through this one).
Just gonna link this single to convince y'all to check it out:

Catch up day from last week's releases Loved the new Floating Points. I know everyone loved his release from last year, but this was much more in my wheelhouse New Clark is very similar to his last one. Thom Yorke wasn't part of this one, but his influence is still there In the current shoegaze battle, I really like Wasp much more than julie, but the julie album was a good start New Nilufer Yanya is pretty good too, going to have to come back to this to figure out how much I like it

I bought several bootlegs when they toured in 2003. I haven't heard this one, but at the time, the reviews of this show were superlative. That setlist looks insane. I have the Buffalo show that they did the night before, that one is great.

Finally! A full length Kate Bollinger album. If you have a chance to see her at Lincoln Hall next month, do it!

The new Alan Sparhawk is very good, though don't expect Low even in the slightest. "Brother" was the best track and while I was hesitant from the first single it's actually great.

Fantastic albums for the sickos goddamn So much going on here. Feels like it runs Greep's typical Black Midi palettes through an even wider array of influences (Steely Dan, showtunes, EW&F, 70s Isleys Bros), and each song is narrated by an even weirder little guy than the song before. Much to chew on here, gonna need many more listens, but I think I love it?

It's really solid, he takes a lot of left turns that make it unpredictable. Sometimes I wish he exhibit just a little more restraint, some of tracks for too long to me, but overall I like it.
The Hard Quartet album is way better than I expected. Also Godspeed album is top notch.

Got around to that Hard Quartet record today and also really enjoyed it. Feels loose and lax like a Jicks record. Honestly, now that I've seen the Pavement reunion twice, I think I'm ready for Malkmus to re-embrace the Jicks / his solo material.

The Hard Quartet album is way better than I expected. Also Godspeed album is top notch. Gave this a few more listens over the last couple days and I half agree with this. I love the tracks where Greep completely abandons restraint (The Magician, Through a Wae), but an entire record's worth of these songs gets weary over an hour+ runtime. I'd chop off the Bongo song, the Motorbike one sung by the other dude, and maybe one other track (Walk Up? As if Waltz?) and get this thing closer to 45-50 minutes.

I was listening to it at work and someone said it sounded like Lin-Manuel Miranda and after Through a War they put on My Shot from Hamilton and they were right : (
