I'm 2/3 of the way through evermore, I like this one much more than folklore. The Haim/country song is trash, but there's some other really good ones. champagne problems, damn season, coney island and long story short are the definite standouts for me

Have had this great record (Carlos Niño and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson's Chicago Waves) on before bed a lot this year. Really special, improvisational music.

Also if anyone has a good Charley Pride album or two or even a greatest hits comp, holla at your bird The Pride of Country Music is what I return to the most but you can't really go wrong with what's still in print in his first decade (less familiar with later stuff). I tend to not gravitate towards greatest hits albums but for late 60s early 70s Country artists its not a bad place to start because everyone signed 90 album deals and had to release 2 a year.

So that new Eminem 'Songs to Be Murdered By' Side B is, well, pretty much what you'd expect from Em nowadays. 'Zeus' has some good lines ("I used to watch bills pile up/Now I sit back and watch bills pile up").

unfortunately, not really a fan of the paul mccartney album. it's nowhere near as good as the other albums he played all the instruments on (i, ii, and chaos and creation) and sounds a lot more like one guy throwing stuff at the wall than a cohesive album.

Like with McCartney II, it's absolutely absurd that "Temporary Secretary" and "Waterfalls" are both on the front half of the album. Agreed that McCartney III isn't as good as any of the three you mentioned, but I still love it and I still think it's genuinely great. Also Chaos and Creation in the Backyard is one of the more underrated albums of the last 20 years. "Jenny Wren" is basically as good as anything he's written.

I'm listening to this Squirrel Flower album now but it's not good enough to have its image in the same post as Dolly

Malkmus really freaked it on this one, huh? I checked this out like 2-3 years ago and thought it was cool. Revisiting it now and it's fucking awesome. Coming around to the viewpoint that his post-Pavement work is his best stuff.

Popped in my local record store to get a couple things for my BIL for christmas and a-sides was playing. Had only ever heard a track or two so I decided to give it a full listen through and goddamn is it good.

I really do not like the new McCartney. Just bad bad bad. Wanted to like it - Chaos and Creation is still one I go back to and love, but this is not good.
