I am not a classical guy by any means, but this is really knocking me on my ass this morning. The Scherzos in particular. My guy you gotta get on the Vikingur Olafsson train, he’s putting out a killer classical piano album pretty much every year

Have listened to this (at least in part) every day this week. One of the more fascinating albums in rock history, IMO. I can see arguments for it being their worst album, their best album, a disappointing follow-up, the only follow-up they could have released, a mess, a beautiful collage. Personally, I love huge, messy, ambitious albums, so I'm a fan. But it's still such an enigma. That said, "Police on my Back" and "Washington Bullets" are probably Top 10 Clash songs, for sure.

I’ve got Somebody Got Murdered in my top 10 and Police on My Back in the top 20. I’d also give a shout to Charlie Don’t Surf and the Magnificent Seven, but outside that there isn’t much I care for on this one. It’s definitely my least favorite album of theirs and maybe it’s cuz I just never spent enough time with it, but I never enjoyed it enough to explore further

Has anyone streamed De La Soul yet? What albums did you listen to? Was it your first time listening to them? What’d you think?

I streamed 3 Feet High and Rising yesterday, which I’ve definitely documented here as one of my favorites. I’ve listened to the whole catalogue before but it’s been ages so I’ll definitely be doing that again

Another wry, heartwarming, heartbreaking album from the sleepy-eyed Cowboy of Brooklyn, Dougie Poole. Come for the odes to the Mac "Rainbow Wheel of Death" and stay for cutting ruminations on losing love ones while riding the Megabus to the cemetery.

Had a chance to give this a full listen this morning. Whole thing is catchy as fuck. If these guys play their cards right I could see this type of stuff being a huge hit at fests as a loud punky yet not too threatening act, although I'm not sure if that's what they want. Couple guest spots from Ian Shelton from Militarie Gun and Jordan Pierce from Soul Glo that work well.
