I've seen U2 many times and haven't really been as into them lately as I have in the past, but it would be tough to pick better weather or a better setlist than what looks like is set for tonight. Pretty torqued.

Pretty torqued. damnit facts, come say hi!! Where were you guys? I was floor left about perpendicular to the B stage. I met CG once so I think I'd recognize a group of boarders. Or not. Great show. The setlist was so good that I could overlook avowed tax evader Bono talking about paying taxes.

That was my fifth U2 show and I think it was my favorite. Outside of looking at setlists I avoided knowing anything about the stage setup and that blew me away. Crowd was great too. I was worried that they would lose interest after the Joshua Tree hits, but thankfully that didn't happen. Would have been nice if they would have played "A Sort Of Homecoming", but I will never complain about getting "Bad" instead

Really the only clunker in the whole setlist is Elevation, and even that one is worth it because you can tell Edge loves it so much for some reason.

Anybody know what time the show ended around last night? Also what time U2 themselves started?

Sounds like a cool show. As a first-time U2 goer, I deeply hope that they're keeping I Will Follow as a set closer here instead of that new song.

"Miss Sarajevo" was the one clunker for me. And for sure, they went on around 9:10pm and ended around 11:10pm. Lumineers were fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see them do a full opening set. We caught maybe the final five or six tunes.

U2 played a fairly normal Joshua Tree set at Roo but played Vertigo. I wonder if that ever finds its way into the main tour stops? Probably not, but since I've never seen them before I'd prefer it to Miss Sarajevo.

I thought "Vertigo" would be in every setlist for U2 during this Joshua Tree tour, but it wasn't played til Bonnaroo. Huh.

I'm surprised they played it at all outside of Roo. Figured they were sick of it and it didn't fit the set they were going for.

Looks like Ultra Violet got swapped out for Mysterious Ways.

Ugh. Hopefully they either switch it back or they keep cycling Achtung tracks so we get like Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses by the time Cleveland comes around.

Kinda feeling the same re:Gillette. I would prefer Ultra Violet and I Will Follow, but I know my dad (who paid for the tickets) would prob prefer Mysterious Ways and Vertigo. I wouldn't be gutted with those but I'd prefer the former.

I'd be fine with Mysterious Ways if we weren't aware of the previous setlists haha.
Vertigo is legit a bad song, though.

Yeah I mean it's nostalgic elements are rooted in hilarity the days, but it's hilariously dumb enough as a show closer that it perfectly sums up my feelings on stadium shows.

Hey how long have the openers been playing for? OneRepublic goes on at 7 and the show's over (supposedly) by 11, so I'm assuming an hour and then U2 on at 9?

I forgot when Lumineers ended, but I can definitively say that U2 went on around 9:10pm at Soldier Field and ended around 11:10pm.
We had enough time to meet up with some friends on the concourse, chat for about 15 minutes and then stand in line for beer for another 10-15 minutes. And I seem to recall we were waiting for a good 15-20 minutes in our seats for the show to start. So maybe Lumineers ended around 8:25ish?

I had a pretty terrible concert experience at MetLife last Thursday. I don't plan on seeing a stadium show ever again unless I manage to get floor tickets. I couldn't see or hear much of anything. Hated it. Also, $40 tshirts? This is probably pretty normal nowadays, right? Awful.

Yeah, I was just happy I didn't like any of the t-shirts. Refuse to pay that price for any T-shirt, period.

Bono's voice caved during their show in Cologne this weekend. Stopped roughly 5 songs in and cancelled the show; his voice was completely gone, on a moment's notice.
I guess they have nursed him back to health and it was a minor scare, 'cause they're back in the arena for tonight's show, rehearsing The Unforgettable Fire at soundcheck (a ridiculously hard song to sing)

That’s cool ! I figured they would take another year off with how hard they toured in 2017 and 2018.

They haven't been down there since 2010 and it looks like they're going to reprise The Joshua Tree Tour. There's been a lot of new music / tours in the last 9 years though so I'm curious to see what the set will look like.
