I'm currently attempting some haircare techniques because my current system is less than spectacular. Got some nice oils based on recommendations for my hair type. Feeling good. Any tips for people with curly hair to make it less sad?

What do you want it to do?

I’ve had a lot of problems with it being dry and tangly lately. I think my current conditioner isn’t cutting it. I splurged on a couple oil based hair products that come highly recommended by several people with my hair type and I rubbed my scalp with some stuff too.

Maybe you just don't have soft hair

It was several years ago which is why I think I may have damaged it to the point of not being soft. I’m giving it my best shot over here though. Following several JVN steps

I would get it cut if you think it's damaged. You can't un-damage hair

That’s the next move if I don’t like how it feels after doing this shit. Should probably get it trimmed anyways, it’s been a few years since I’ve had anything done to it

Oh yeah you are due. Even if you have longer hair you need to get it trimmed every six weeks or so, depending on how fast it grows.
What products were you using before? You mostly want to look for stuff without sulfates or parabens

I mean some people can get away with that but us curly folk cannot

Yeah honestly I just kinda grew up using the same shampoo/conditioner as my dad who also has curly hair but keeps it very short. Accidentally used my wife’s shampoo in the shower once since it’s in a similar bottle and my head felt brand new which led me to branching out a little bit

I think that's pretty normal if you have short hair. I go every 3-4 weeks.

Maybe your glossy locks don't grow very fast?
I go to every 4-5 weeks in the summer because it grows faster then.

I don’t really know what a haircut should cost since my mom always paid for it and now that I’m on my own I don’t know what in the hell I’m doing #issupercutsok?

My dude is at $35 now. I usually just give him $40. People tell me that's a lot but he's the only one I trust.
I usually go 6-8 weeks, going from a very short jarhead to wherever I end up when my sideburns start making my ears itch. Any longer that that and my hair gets too crazy for my workplace.
I have used different varieties of Head & Shoulders 2 in 1 for as long as I can remember and my hair is always nice and soft. I don't have curly hair at all though.

I used to get $15 haircuts but I started going to a "man salon" (lol) and they charge $25 and do a good job and its definitely worth the extra $10 every two months or whatever. They also have beer and its dope to drink a beer with hair in it what a joy.

I went to a beard trim place that also does haircuts and they’ll pour you some bourbon if you ask for it which is neat. The only problem is that it’s styled like a speakeasy and almost impossible to find

Also, I pay $37 b4 tip, but it also comes with an enjoyable shampoo
