follow up, should i listen to BMTH? i dont care about gambino outside of 1 or 2 songs and im actively avoiding impala. where do i start Wait you never listened to early BMTH? It's totally generic Brit deathcore, which makes it even funnier that they are now trying to be an autotune alt pop band. Everything through Sempiternal is serviceable metalcore if that floats your boat. They have long been one of my most decadent of guilty pleasures but I'm staying far away from Lolla this year. Your alt-pop is the rough equivalent of my boy band, but I don't get the autotune reference. The new records are pretty overproduced, but live I give them the benefit of the doubt for being "mostly" live.

IRT: Wretched
I'm sure someone will call me a shithead for my opinion, but BMTH sorta started as screamo (and if this interests you, listen to Sempiternal. Then they had sort of a chanty hit with Happy Song from "That's the Spirit" but there's also a bit of boy band weirdness here. The latest is Amo, and there are a couple of bangers on here, but again they seem to be trying to find room for the occasional ballad. I drove up to Milwaukee last week to see them since I was out of town when they came through Chicago, and I thought the show was great. There's a bit of inexplicable alien dancers and strange videos, but they can play and I'd go again. TL:DR - Sempiternal first, then Amo, then That's the Spirit. They just don't play enough of the really old screamo stuff for you to waste your time on the first few albums. Fuck me and my opinions, though. I support all of this. Sempiternal is their best album. They had pivoted a little bit mainstream but it was kind of on an acceptable trajectory. Everything after that was kind of questionable.

Even with the Janelle DCFC conflict Friday is actually a very full day for me I'm one of the biggest DCFC fans left here at this point, but, this really shouldn't even be a choice... For sure I’m seeing Janelle

I love that the clashfinder is formatted better than the schedule on the app, since they couldn't bother to put the stages north to south on the app the ordering just made absolutely no sense lol

But it's this combination of trying to produce softer vocals with Oli's voice being totally shot to hell from years of screaming.

Sooo... my schedule's looking like:
Thursday (if my flight gets in on time): Saba -> The Strokes
Friday: New Respects -> Nude Party -> IDLES -> Japanese Breakfast / Tierra Whack (if there's a JB aftershow) -> Maggie Rogers -> Wine -> Janelle -> Food -> Tame Impala for like 45 minutes -> Childish Gambino to close (NOTE: this may be flipped in order setlist-dependent)
Saturday: Sam Fender -> Fantastic Negrito -> Jade Bird -> Pink Sweat$ -> Gary Clark Jr. -> Wine -> Lil Wayne -> Run a mile -> Tenacious D -> Food -> Madeon / J Balvin
Sunday: Alex G (maybe? Need to hear the others in the morning still) -> JID -> Illiterate Light -> Francis & The Lights -> FUUUUCCCKKKK. Just gonna rank the order I'm interested in these acts, and we'll see how aftershows play out. 1.) Sharon Van Etten; 2.) Rosalia; 3.) Mitski; 4.) Denzel Curry; 5.) Kacey Musgraves; 6.) Slash -> Ariana Grande

sort of like Aquabats at riot fest last yr, rt? Very much so...except the Aquabats change up the dancers for every song.
The BMTH dancers were consistently inappropriate and not very well thought-out throughout the set.
They added nothing IMO.

They finally put the schedule up on the website and it just got me more mad that everything I want to see seems to overlap with everything. If I end up going and pay more that $250 for this thing I'm gonna be pissed
