Just found out that T-mobile customers will have access to a viewing deck at the main stage. When Samsung did that a few years ago, they had free food and drinks. The sight lines weren't that great though.

Turns out the charity people accepted my application again even though I only put 2 days. So I’m going to do Friday morning and Sunday night. I have to decide what stage I want to be near for Sunday now, either for San Holo or Mitski.

Turns out the charity people accepted my application again even though I only put 2 days. So I’m going to do Friday morning and Sunday night. I have to decide what stage I want to be near for Sunday now, either for San Holo or Mitski. If you have positive reviews from your leads from last year, you're pretty much guaranteed to get what you want. Applying for multiple days moves you up on the approval list. The only thing that works against anyone is asking for ALL early shifts. Everyone wants early shifts. I assume you are doing the water fill. Send me a PM the week of Lolla and I'll see if I can have a chat with the lead to make sure you get the spot you want. Frankly, though, unless they move the water fill stations around this year, the ONLY one that has a view of any stage is the Lower Hutchinson field station (where you can see/hear the main and second South stage). The other water setups are either facing away from stages or are buried well away from any sightline. Edit: I forgot, you can see the Perry's stage from the Perry water station should that appeal to anyone. Edit2: I just saw your earlier post where you say that the water people can pick their station. That usually works on Thursday, and then everyone that gets stuck with a shitty station figures out that they need to get "chosen" for the Lower Hutch station. That station has 8 taps, so by Friday, there are 30 people vying for those 8 spots. The leads usually do the picking to avoid the stampede. You may have been lucky last year if you got what you wanted.

Verizon Up + Lollapalooza should be a thing if it hasn't yet.

Just found out that T-mobile customers will have access to a viewing deck at the main stage. When Samsung did that a few years ago, they had free food and drinks. The sight lines weren't that great though. You left out the biggest perk of that Samsung program, they had a front of the main stage section reserved for Samsung users. It was insane value for just having a phone (or being the plus one of someone who did). My guess is this is actually taking the place of the Citi viewing deck that's been on the right side of the field the past few years. The wristband activation page still mentions Citi as a sponsor but has no perks listed beyond some fast lane into the main Buckingham Fountain merch store. In the past, they called out a credit ($5?) for linking your Citicard to the wristband, and the viewing deck. That also means the deck will probably be much busier as I imagine more people have T-Mobile than a Citi CC, and it doesn't seem to require pre-registration (which Samsung did).

Anyone get a weird email from Mario at Stubhub?
"I can see that you were looking at some great tickets on our website, please feel free to provide me a price point and a section of preference and I’ll be more than happy to send you some options over email"

Seems like the follow up is gonna be someone asking you to send them pictures of the backs of some iTunes gift cards you’ve purchased.

Other than that, that's an impressive food lineup. How is Steingold's cheaper at Lolla than the actual restaurant??

Steingold's also has the slowest takeout service on the planet so that should translate well to 100k people.
I still love Steingold's tho

I still love Steingold's tho I like Steingolds, and we go there at least a couple times a year because it's so convenient and very delicious but... it's overpriced for what you get. When I think Jewish deli, sandwiches are usually bursting with corned beef or pastrami or whatever. That's not the case at Steingolds.

Right? Great idea to post things on social media that imply that your tickets are sold out to the general public when they aren't.

Same but the wording on the page seems to imply there’s at least a minor discount The verbage on TMobile's site doesn't really imply discount... "We're teaming up with Live Nation to bring you exclusive, last-minute tickets to Lollapalooza. T-Mobile customers will even have access to a viewing deck with prime views of the T-Mobile main stage." Just mentions that the tickets are somehow exclusive and include access to the viewing deck, which I thought regular ticket holders with TMobile (boooo) would have a way to sign up for at the festival site anyways.

Obviously just trying to get asses in Grant Park that weekend. Between the TMobile thing and offering a lottery for Do312More folks to win tickets to any/all of the 4 days, this is far from sold out.

There's a very real possibility that this could be cheaper than Pitchfork for me when all is said and done, which would've been absurd to think about even 2 years ago

In years past, Citi was the sponsor that had the corner on "Oh, look! We still have tickets left" market. I think it could be a function of tickets reserved for artists, sponsors and other related parties that would go unused.
