Biggest musical regret is never seeing them live despite numerous opportunities.
Now I would pay all of the money for a ticket if they even played a one-off show. I sadly don't think it'll ever happen, though. They all seem pretty content post-REM.

I've been on an R.E.M. kick since the announcement of the Monster reissue. It's the album that made me fall hard for them in high school. Listened to the '95 live show from the BBC box set - I had no idea this was part of it, thanks airportman! |

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve seen the last of REM. I think it was the guy who books lolla who said in a reddit AMA that they offer them a ridiculous amount of money every year that promptly gets rejected.

Mike Mills has a ton of projects keeping him occupied. Michael Stipe apparently has a solo album in the can. They all seem creatively fulfilled, and nobody's strapped for cash. |

I feel like this all backs the it will happen eventually argument. The fact that they're all still friends and are all now making and performing music again bodes well for a potential reunion. They're still young enough that there's no rush. I expect I'll see REM perform live again in my lifetime. |
