I've always enjoyed a few Modest Mouse songs, but hear horror stories of their live shows being super awful. Any insight on this one? I've only seen them a handful of times, and they've been A+++ each except for at Riot Fest which was just ok. I've heard many horror stories too. Get lucky, I guess.

Best thread. The only two sub-par shows Modest Mouse shows I've seen have been their big fest sets (Lolla, Riot Fest).
Both indoor shows I've seen + P4k were very solid. I'll let you know how they do at a high school football field.

They were completely uninspiring at Riot Fest Denver a couple of years ago. I left half way through. I would probably give them another chance under the right circumstances.

I skipped them at Riot Fest Chicago for Prodigy, but I thought their Concord show the week before was fantastic.

Yeah I'd probably skip them at a fest at this point. RF show was just ok. Shit set list.

Kind of thinking about going to Boise? Boise is a super fun town. You should go. It's a bitch to get to, tho.

It looks like the reviews have been mostly positive so far? Forgot this is coming out. Will be my first listen tomorrow (maybe tonight depending on length/beer consumption)

Overall thoughts:
1. Better than the last one 2. All the songs <4 minutes are good-to-great 3. All the songs >4 minutes are ok-to-jesus man why did this make the cut
I liked "Walking and Running and "Japanese Trees" --> "Back to the Middle" the most

Jamming along to the Lolla show now. These sets are actually really great, and the new song they played so far at Lolla was 10000000000000% better live. After seeing the WI setlist, I tried to grab a ticket to the Indy show but got fucked around by Ticketmaster. Momma pigs was able to grab one for me so I'm going to take the risk of dying by going to a concert.

Even Isaac just admitted the sound sucks at the Aragon It's leaps and bounds better than it was in the 90s. Isaac was very chatty last night. It's a shame they had to cut a few songs due to curfew but I feel like that's something they could/should have planned for in advance.

Shoutout to Isaac for requiring vaxx on this tour Was surprised to see they were actually somewhat enforcing this. Even more surprised by the amount of people who had to step out of line because they didn't have proof of vax.

Haven't seen a venue ever strictly enforce it like that.
