I could have sworn they already put an album out this year, but that was Two Door Cinema Club. They should really not release new music jn the same year

I just realized that Bombay Bicycle Club is short for BBC. That has to be intentional, right?
That song isn't bad.

Cara Delevingne in a recent interview implies she's heard the new Fiona Apple record and that it's coming soon.

I am very interested in that '95 live show on the deluxe edition. 18 year old zircona1 was a bit obsessed - with too much disposable income - on getting a copy of one of their live shows on that tour.

Did you listen to the Milton Keynes Bowl show on Live at the BBC? No, I didn't bother with that b/c it seemed like a lot of stuff I would only listen to once and never again.

New Liturgy track is actually okay, and is not terrible, but is also nowhere near as good as "Quetzalcoatl." Hope that helps.

Serious question: how did Michael Gira escape being cancelled? Larkin's accusations seemed extremely credible, and Gira's response was very unsatisfactory (to me.)
Interesting to think how the news story may have been treated differently in a post-Me Too era...

I was just gonna say I remember there being some pretty awful accusations that came up surrounding this.

I just did some digging, and it looks like all three parties (Michael Gira, Larkin Grimm, and Michael Gira's wife) deleted every post they made about this, so all that remains is the reporting (from Pitchfork and the like.) Speculation is that lawyers got involved, and the matter was settled out-of-court, and the posts were deleted as a part of that settlement. CW: discussing the accusation below: Even assuming that Larkin is lying (which I am not), and even assuming that Gira is telling the truth when he says the physical encounter "was not consummated" (gross) and that he did not rape her, his statement completely fails to take responsibility for the WILD imbalance of power between a label-owner, producer, and icon and his much less famous accuser who was working with him at the time. And that's *assuming* the very best of his statement is 100% true (which I very highly doubt.) I also recall some pretty gross posts from Gira's wife attempting to discredit Larkin, but can't immediately find them. When this news came out back in early '16, I took my signed Swans poster off the wall. It's staying that way.

i'd assumed he was still soft-cancelled because almost nobody voted for any swans albums in the best of the '90s thing
