if it's for the Wednesday show in Des Plaines, absolutely yes; if it's for the Thursday show in St. Charles, no. finally joined do312 more yesterday afternoon. I claimed the wayne newton tix when they showed up in the last minute tix page this morning. Even tho he's more or less lost his voice w/ age, the better half is excited for this show because the reviews have indicated it's a trip down memory lane to the days of old Las Vegas. (I had seen him at Drury lane oak Brook in the mid 90's when his voice was still okay). Looking forward to your review of the Onesti experience. |

ktd, I have been to the Des Plaines before once (tower of power), and the Arcada three times over the years (Dionne Warwick, Gatlins, Billy Ocean), so am familiar w/ Ron O.
I think he has good intentions, but can be a little cringe worthy to watch when he gets too excited and / or patriotic about things. subtlety, man.

The ANOHNI show at Symphony Center this Saturday is in the Do312 More Last Minute Tickets, hurry and grab them if you want them if I hadn't already grabbed the Wayne Newton tix, and if we hadn't already planned to have post- Yom Kippur dinner Saturday w/ nanadad and nanasis, I would definitely have claimed this, because Anohni has been on the bucket list since the day Hercules and the Love Affair played perry's stage at lolla, and we stayed thru almost the whole set because I didn't realize Antony wasn't still a part of Hercules and the Love Affair by then. |

On Saturday, the better half has an informal reunion of people she went to high school with, so if someone wants my +1 from do312more for Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers w/ opener Bri Bagwell at joe's bar, let me know.
this week I learned that the Peacemakers are the successor band to the Refreshments who I saw play taste of chicago in the mid 1990's, opening for dishwalla and headliner goo goo dolls (I didn't stay for goo goo dolls, because I had seen their show at a near north parking lot on LaSalle Street that has since become an office building).

If the better half didn't hate the salt shed, and especially the floor, and if we weren't already going to leon bridges the night before (don't like to do 2 shows in a row anymore), with a work seminar Friday morning, I'd definitely want to go to this, because the the are not tk'd. |

I speculatively grabbed a cheap Drive-By Truckers ticket for Friday, Nov. 1 at HOB Chicago when LiveNation had their $25 sale, but I'm not going to be in town that weekend, so if anyone wants it, it's $Free.99.
