Then it's probably not for you. If you think that MBV is the end all be all of shoegaze, then you probably won't like it. Most people I've heard complain about it don't know shoegaze outside of MBV and Slowdive. Yes that's a generalization.

there's a solid portion of albums at the bottom of my list that i've only heard once so far. Whigs has been on my to do list for relistens but festival playlists and such have occupied a lot of my summer jams. it just didnt have any standout tracks to me at first listen.
