I haven't been to TX since farm aid '92, but there are way more familiar names (and way more acts in the tk) on the acl 2022 lineup than on the lolla 2022 lineup. it's too bad asleep and the wheel and culture club are on different weekends.

It was a consideration that I might go weekend 2 Friday because Pavement is in Austin on that Tuesday and figured I might stay through, but that really doesn't do it for me. Maybe if the weekend 1 exclusives were playing both weekend

Yeah I don't think Saturday or Sunday were scheduled very well.
But Friday actually did work out well enough for me, and honestly my idea of going to Austin earlier in the week and seeing Pavement on that Tuesday, Billy Strings (presumably playing) on that Thursday, and then a Friday day of Wet Leg>Genesis Owusu>L'Impeatrice>Phoenix>Billy Strings (into I guess The Chicks?) really sounds like a nice week. But 1 day tickets need to drop in price.

Too early to tell with us but we’re kicking around a quick trip to Austin that just so happens to coincide with weekend 1. Not doing all 3 days but doing 1 (likely Sunday) looks probable

Man that actually worked out really well for me if I do want to do this weekend two thing.
Tuesday- Pavement
Thursday- Billy Strings
Friday (day)- ACL Fest (Wet Leg>Genesis Owusu>L'Impeatrice>Phoenix>Billy Strings)
Friday (night)- Spoon at ACL Live
That's a fun week for sure. Wednesday free day in Austin, Saturday eat some barbecue then head home
Weekend 1 aftershows would work even better for me with Zach Bryan, Billy, and Goose but I don't think I can swing it. Also weekend 1's schedule requires me to choose between seeing Carly Rae or Billy at the fest and that would be a horrible decision for me (I'd choose Carly though)

Edit for a few questions:
Does ACL do the Paypal $25 savings (when buying passes) like Lolla has for the past few years? And, the Paypal wristband $25 thing, as well?
Where would someone park near Zilker that is easy in/easy out and how much is parking? (Less than one mile would be preferred.)
We will be staying with friends in San Marcos. How is the traffic down there?

There is parking, and it can even be free if you get there early enough. But, you're going to walk...probably 1.5 miles or so. Parking is available at Austin High School (not on Friday), but I think that you have to pay. For free parking, set your GPS to Maudie's Cafe. That area has plenty of residential parking that's too far for most people so there's always plenty of street parking. From there, it's closer to 2 miles walk. There's a pedestrian bridge on the bottom of the Mopac highway. Don't get tempted into taking a scooter any further than the bridge. The scooters cannot be "returned" on the festival side of the lake.
From what I understand there's no on-site parking at all (except staff and disabled).
There is a shuttle from one of the local malls that runs very competently. You'll have to wait on the way out if you leave after the headliner, but I'd guess no more than 15-20 minutes in line.
If you are OK with parking around the school at 10AM or so, you can do it for free. Otherwise, my suggestion is that you go shuttle.

Miranda Lambert obviously the out of left field sort of guess but maybe Kendrick in that spot instead if they go more like Lolla but I have a feeling there will be at least one isn't headlining any other major fests headliner

This is pretty good! Although it's hilarious to me they booked both Mumford and the Lumineers. But the Lumineers just did a stadium tour and are fifth on this lineup so thats wild
And the other bummer is it'd be really hard to choose the split between weekend 1 and 2. I'd lean weekend 2 but missing a few names I'd like
