Ticket prices for this have been soaring which I think officially counts me out
There's been multiple years where prices tanked closer to the festival. I'm honestly really surprised. Weekend 1 is hovering $500 which is insane, weekend 2 is at $300

Weather forecast for the first weekend looks awful Is it typically still in the 90s in Texas this time of year ?

I don't know about typical, but I was in Austin during ACL 2016 and it was in the 90s during the day all weekend. Austin is hot, I'm hoping it cools down a bit for weekend 2.

I don't know that it was ever in the 90s, but it was always pretty hot during FFF. Like low to mid 80s maybe? And that was the first week of November.

I don’t remember it being hot the one time I went to FFF, but maybe that was just a cooler year.

I don't think anyone here cares, but Sam Fender is on vocal rest and cannot perform

I really enjoyed my first day at ACL, despite the unseasonably cool temps. Zilker is significantly smaller than Grant Park (at least the footprint the festival uses), so it's very easy to get from stage to stage. They also allow people to bring in collapsible chairs to sit on, which probably helps attract families and some older festival goers who don't want to stand all day.
I ended up splitting the headliner sets for the first time since Lolla 2012, going from GnR to Tame back to GnR. That was not my original plan, but I got caught up in the moment with the group I was with. Both headliners sounded good, I'm glad I caught some of each. On to day two! (after I lay in bed for a few hours)

I just realized that other than the headliners, I'm watching all female fronted acts today and tomorrow (and to be fair, even though Billie isn't technically headlining, I'd still bet she has the largest crowd today). Yesterday was split basically down the middle. I wonder if that was a conscious decision by the festival? Either way good for ACL.

I'll continue to talk to myself in here:
Day two was a blast, temps were significantly warmer, and the fest was significantly fuller. Billie had the biggest crowd I saw, although I wasn't at Gambino. I did meet up with Irv for a bit at the beginning of the Cure, but he had to leave early. Simon Gallup also had to bail on the show for personal reasons, which was very confusing because I didn't know who the hell was playing bass until I looked it up after the set (his son, Eden). Glad to say I finally got "Burn" live, third time's a charm indeed.

Wrapping this up, day three was a ton of fun as well. Kacey was my set of the day for sure, I was not expecting her to tug so hard on my heart strings. Lizzo was insanely packed, so much so that her stage could not fit her crowd, and they put her performance on the main stage screens as well. I closed the fest with seeing Mumford for the first time in 6 years, they've put out a lot of mediocre/bad music since then, but it was fun to hear some of the old stuff.
I really loved my first ACL, of all the majors this one is most suited to my tastes at this point. If they keep up their end up the bargain, we'll be back again next year.

I've wanted Bruce to play this thing for the longest and considering he said the E Street Band is touring next year and they have a streak of legacy acts, I have some hope for next year being the year

The Roger Waters tour lines up with this too perfectly, so that's probably a headliner
Edit- he's in Dallas the Saturday of weekend 1, and not doing any other shows two days in a row, so maybe it's just a coincidence, which is kind of annoying
