This is going to begin on October 9th.
The purpose of this thread is to nominate albums for this weekly project. The rules are simple. We will run a classic album or a new release, weekly. One thread is dedicated to discussion on those albums only, use this thread for nominations. If participation stays steady, we'll add a second album.
Classic = An album you love that you want others to listen to that wasn't released recently.
New Release = A 2017 album you think others will enjoy. Try to limit these to less known releases. Everyone already pretty much has an opinion on how shit awful the new Father John Misty album is, so let's leave it alone.
Classics require just a single nomination. New releases require the initial nomination, with a second and third required to get it on the list.
For both, an album needs to be either available on streaming services, Youtube, or you have the mp3 versions that you can put into the []. If you're new to this and don't know what the [] is, PM me.
Certain artists we'd like to shy away from on this. Obviously nothing is really off limits, and the nomination process should hopefully prevent this. But just for those who need it spelled out, here are a few examples of artists we're not likely to cover - Kanye, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, The National, Deerhunter, etc. The reason behind this is b/c almost everyone here has already listened to those and provided an opinion about them. The purpose of this is to share music that you think others will enjoy, specifically something you enjoy that you don't think others really have tried.
Nominations are always open so please throw some out and look here for the schedule.
Spotify playlists for both.
