i had a dream that i went to cambodia or sri lanka with anthony bourdain. i haaated the food and was worried about disappointing tony, but i kept falling asleep during meals and when i woke up, the food would be gone. turns out he liked me and was eating it for me so as to not disrespect the locals. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last night I dreamt I was at a music festival at the top of a ski hill and Orville Peck closed his set by covering Reel Big Fish. none of this sounds far fetched aside from a music festival happening anytime soon tbf |

I dreamed I was at some kind of reception in an underground salt cave with some coworkers and Vincent Cassel, and they had a bunch of large, whole fish on ice. They were all kinds of fantastical colors. The party was wrapping up so Vincent Cassel grabs one that's patterned like a monarch butterfly, saying "these won't be any good in the morning" and we hop on the escalator and leave.

i had a dream last night that i was record shopping in a house on some greek island. madonna was also browsing. and stephen merchant was a realtor trying to sell the house.

the ex who i used to live with in CA has kept appearing in my dreams sporadically during COVID and it's very WTF does that mean. not thinking about her or haven't been doing anything that would make the subconscious think of her. it's really strange

also had a super vivid dream last week that i had taken a job at the company i've been most interested in working for (and who were pretty much ready to create a position just for me before the world fell apart) but somehow i was still trapped in the interim of a never-ending 2 weeks notice period at this job and it made everything horrifyingly awkward.
actually now that i write it down, i think that's just my brain making a literal scenario out of what i've been feeling for a year now...

i'm walking between wilson and lawrence in albany park and come across a party. a dance remix from the new wolf parade album is blaring from a top floor condo. some people are following social distancing by dancing on their balconies. others are having a full party on the sidewalk and into the street. i'm trying to avoid the latter bozos. when i get past the block, i run into another guy who is also annoyed with them. we snitch on the party.
then it's more like i am watching the dream than being in it. 60s-era sean connery as james bond walks into a mi6 office in chicago and says that he has a lead on a russian criminal. he's supposed to form a task force. but in my head i know the staff are actually aligned with this russian. when i look at the satellite images on the computers, i notice that the russian criminal is the dj who was playing wolf parade. the staff handcuff bond as he's explaining the plan.

I had a TERRIBLE dream last night that turned out okay and then segued into a very nice dream.
I was in my parents' backyard with my college roommate and noticed a pretty blue bird sitting on a branch near some farm equipment, I recognized the bird as a very rare one that a birder friend of mine had posted on Facebook. "Look!" I nudged my old roommate. "It's a blue warbler!" We kept watching him for a while and then noticed his mate showed up and marveled at our luck, seeing a pair of blue warblers.
Then the bird hopped on to the farm equipment and it started up, crushing the bird. We were both horrified and couldn't look. Even now I'm getting a pit in my stomach thinking about it.
We resolved to keep an eye on the bird's mate, and she stayed near the farm equipment. Finally we got the nerve to go over and see what had happened, and the bird was still alive! He had lost a leg, but he regained strength and finally flew away, and we would see him around the yard after that, the one-legged blue warbler.
Thank god this was over, then I was somehow tailgating *in* Red Rocks with my friend Mike, who had packed a portable truck bed (?) with beverages, Easter candy and gummies. We were seeing a movie there and kept moving up closer and closer with our giant truck bed. Finally it was time to go and I was excited because we were going to meet up with Mike's wife who is one of my favorite people in the world. But instead we went to some skate park party? There was a pool, and Justin Bieber, who I was also good friends with apparently, and then it was time for me to go home, but I was bummed since I hadn't picked up some of my favorite gummies. Justin Bieber said his driver would take me to the dispensary next to the airport, which was awesome, and it was set up like a salad bar so I just got like a couple scoops full and went home.

last night i dreamed celebrity chef matty matheson and i were in a like, tunnel basement system deep underground cooking but all we had to cook where these huge fucking cinnabons, like 15 feet by 15 feet
in the dream i had to go pee into a hole in a different room and matty kept making fun of me about it
when i woke up i had to pee more than i have in my entire life

man i had a super vivid dream monday night that i had signed up to start training for pro wrestling and like, a ton of big names were there coaching me. it honestly was the only pleasant dream i can remember having in quite a while lol
incidentally, i've actually reached out to local promotions this week to see if they're offering training once things settle down... whoooops i got incepted. #dontletyourdreamsbedreams

I had a weird dream too.
There was a huge storm and flood in Greenville. I remember taking a picture of it with my phone and it was supposed to be like the first one of 30 nights straight.
Then for some reason I was driving an RV that apparently belonged to work. I got to like a road that had a bunch of road blocks and the water was so high and current so strong that it was just carrying me so I was just steering without using any gas and finding holes in the road blocks to get through.
Then I got to a point where there were no holes and somehow managed to open my window and put my hand against the barrier, and using the pressure from my hand and my hip against the door of the RV was able to LIFT the RV that was filled with water over the barricade and keep going.
Then I was at a rest stop and got picked up by my plant engineer because the RV broke down and I remember being terrified to tell my boss not only does our plant have an RV for some reason but I drove it in a flood and now it's ruined.
I'm sure there's a message in there somewhere about work life balance.

i'm in an airbnb and walk up a rickety ladder into a shack on top of a mountain overlooking a lake. it's a beautiful view. then i check instagram and see people storying shellac playing on that mountain. they are playing at the top and a huge crowd is standing below them on a very steep incline. then the next story i see is kasabian playing in the woods on the same mountain, but to a much smaller audience and on flat ground. i like kasabian more than shellac, so i walk around trying to find them. but i can't.
back in the airbnb i find a box of kasabian merch. all they have are navy blue t-shirts from a 2014 tour with franz ferdinand. i'm like "how did i miss this tour?" i go back to the mountain and still can't find where kasabian is playing, but i do find huge piles of cardboard. i accidentally set off the cardboard sliding down the hill. the pieces pick up a ton of speed and jump off a ramp nearly decapitating small children playing in a parking lot where the lake was. then i find myself sliding down the mountain at a high speed before jumping to the side. someone picks me up and puts me in a car and we start to drive off. every other person in the dream spoke swedish.

Dreamt I got into an argument with Charles Barkley in a South Boston DIY loft venue. Can't remember what we were arguing about but he was pissed and huge. I was sitting in a recliner and he was towering over me yelling.

i'm driving around vegas with my mom and hear on the radio that my morning jacket's playing a residency at what i can only describe as stone mountain as a casino. maybe a bit of red rocks too. we drive back and forth in front of it multiple times as i try to figure out when mmj is playing. suddenly it's burnt down. the sign says it was called the prosecco jazz club. we pull over into the parking lot where an arson investigation is taking place. we get out and walk around. and then some guy tells me the place has been burnt down for years.

I've made the joke repeatedly anytime anyone asks what I'm doing this long weekend that I'm taking a trip to the Dave n busters in Wisconsin but now every night for the past 3 nights ive had a very mild stress nightmare that I am at an amusement park and its driving me crazy so I am retiring the joke

i'm at an open mic tonight that greg kinnear is hosting. first up is albert hammond jr. he starts by talking about someone named heather, who everyone seems to know and then plays a couple songs that make clear she is a prostitute. he is joined by someone else from the strokes, but i can't see who because of my sightline. the audience loves it. then i'm supposed to be next playing gram parsons songs, but i'm skipped over in favor of the lonely island, who are now 5 people. each member is doing a separate set, except kyle who refused to participate so the audience will get back all but a dollar of kyle's share. they never actually perform anything before i wake up.

i dreamed that me, my bro and my dad had tix to see MJ's last bulls game and my dad insisted on taking the blue line even though we could easily walk to the UC. the station was real crowded and he left me there and it was covid time and i didn't have a mask and i missed the bulls intros and was devastated.
