Because there are so many these days that the topic may as well have its own thread.
Anyway, there was a threat here at school. A friend of mine said we were on the news this morning. We're going to be on lockdown on Wednesday.
If I die in a school shooting, it was nice knowing you all. Or not knowing you. Or kind of knowing you and waving or nodding when seeing each other at shows.

One of the schools I visited had a shooting threat the day of my visit. They told me not to come.
One of my colleagues schools had a shooting threat the day of her visit. She found out sitting in the lobby of the school checking the news on her phone

Yesterday, one of my neighbors said that they had a threat at her son's high school (Lincoln Park).
Today, I'm at Lane Tech for a training, and it's a madhouse. Why? They had a threat.
WTF is going on people? Is there some dumb ring of kids that is making threats at all the different high schools? Not cool.

Are you a teacher UV? If so, you're probably already familiar with the fucked up stuff that happens the week before any extended break. The fact that "calling in a threat" is now an even more obvious way to get attention makes it all the more attractive to the re[dacted]s that pull the stunt.

Not only was there another school shooting today, but this time, the shooter was a teen girl.
CNN:
Shooter was a female armed with multiple guns
The shooter who opened fire at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, was a female, according to police. Police said she appeared "to be in her teens" but is yet to be identified.
Don Aaron of the Metro Nashville Police Department said on a Monday morning news conference that officers arriving to the scene encountered "a female who was firing."
Two responding officers opened fire on the shooter and she was fatally shot, Aaron said.
He said that the shooter "appears" to be in her teens, "although her identification has not been confirmed."
She was armed with at least two "assault-type" rifles and a handgun, Aaron added.

my cousin works at highland park high school, which was under lockdown the other day for five kids with guns. can't even imagine the fear during lockdowns/shootings.

I just completed this terrible active shooter training for work (even though I’ve been 100% remote for eight years) and Run > Hide > Fight is exactly what they preach (in order of preference). wattba. |
