34,522 minutes of which 18 hours was devoted The National (Scoots may never talk to me again). This job is really cutting into my listening time. Just another reason to hate it.
First song: Burn the Witch - Radiohead First discovery: Phoebe Bridgers Top Artists: The National, Beach House, Radiohead, Julien Baker, Anna Burch (huh) Songs: Margaret - Swearin; 2 Cool to Care - Anna Burch; Dark Spring - Beach House; Happy to be Here - Julien Baker Oldest song: A Day in the Life - The Beatles (1967)

I was surprised that beach house wasn’t so high for me but I realized I’ve been playing it out of iTunes. Pretty baller move to open their album with such a great drum fill

My oldest song was apparently Mambo Italiano by Dean Martin, and I have no recollection of that happening.

This is like the first time in about a decade I didn't put together a list. I might have listened to about 15 commercial records all year. Maybe it's more than that. I don't know. I am broken.

My top two artists were Bill Hicks and Gilbert Gottfried, because work was bumming me out earlier this year so I was jamming Revelations: Live in London and Dirty Jokes (respectively) quite a bit.
Most played : Bulls on Parade, Walk This Way, and Loser, b/c I was learning them on drums.
First song: Johnny Feelgood - Liz Phair (my favorite song by her)
First discovery: Lorde
Oldest song: I'm a Man - Bo Diddley

This is here. Also has decade lists which is fun
Having trouble accessing it on my PC but got it up on my phone. The National was my most listened to artist for the second year in a row. And they are my artist of the decade apparently.
My top five of 2019 was 1. The National 2. Vampire Weekend 3. The Gaslight Anthem (I listened to the '59 sound a ridiculous amount this year, it was like my comfort album for a minute there) 4. Car Seat Headrest 5. Ariana Grande
and top 5 songs 1. VW- Harmony Hall 2. Gaslight Anthem- The '59 Sound 3. TGA- Old White Lincoln 4. VW- This Life 5. The National- The Pull of You

My top 5 of 2019 were: 1. Grateful Dead 2. Lizzo 3. Liz Phair 4. Mountain Goats 5. Rolling Stones
And Lizzo / Liz Phair dominated most of my songs lists too - largely thanks to my gf and I sharing a Spotify account and her year-long (and awesome) obsession with Cuz I Love You and Exile In Guyville

2019 was
1. Tyler 2. Vampire Weekend 3. Jamilia Woods 4. Earl 5. Lana
All my top songs are from IGOR which makes sense. They are also the first five songs which also makes sense since I am very much an album person.
I've only had Spotify since last year so my decade list isn't too interesting.

And my artist of the decade... Bob's Burgers.

1. Vampire Weekend 2. Grateful Dead 3. The National 4. Ariana Grande 5. Father John Misty
I listen to the dead a ton on other sites (get most of my shows from Relisten) so they’d probably be #1 if you combined everything.

With the obvious and giant exception of Joanna Newsom and other non-spotify behavior (chiefly, vinyl and soundcloud), this is fairly representative of me. I wish they'd give you the top 20 or more, tho.
2019, Artists: Big Thief Nilüfer Yanya Carly Rae Jepsen Bon Iver Pinegrove
2019, Songs: Bon Iver - "Naeem" Carly Rae Jepsen - "For Sure" Carly Rae Jepsen - "Julien" Angel Olsen - "All Mirrors" Bon Iver - "Hey, Ma"
Decade, Artists: Sufjan Stevens (obv) The Cure Panda Bear Vince Staples Hot CHip
Decade, Songs: Chairlift - "I Belong in Your Arms" Tame Impala - "Let it Happen" Solange - "Losing You" Tame Impala - "Disciples" (.....weird) Major Lazer - "Get Free (feat. Amber Coffman)"
Both year and decade were dominated by the inscrutable genre "Art pop," lol.
