Didn't see anything like this on here yet so here it goes.
Have been a lurker of Lollaboard for about 3 years now, but the site was always buggy to the point that I couldn't ever create an account to post. Now that there's a new board, I thought I might as well join in from the get go.
Bulldogqt, i'm from Milwaukee originally but now I live in Chicago. Planning to attend Pitchfork and Riot Fest this summer. Happy to have a place to discuss them!

Hello everyone...might as well rip this Band-Aid off right now and get it over with.
I briefly introduced myself in the old board today, where it was established that I was a longtime off-and-on lurker and that Midland is awful.
I originally created an account in 2011 and came to the board for scoops on lineups and to find out about new artists. I even met a few boarders very briefly that year at Lolla. I just kind of stopped posting for some reason.
I began reading the forum a lot more recently, and decided to actually join in on some of the conversation.
I've been going to Lolla since 2008, skipping 2009. However, I am likely not going this year, because Riot Fest has taken priority...Last year being the first time attending that fest.
I like all sorts of music, but lean more towards heavy and progressive stuff.

I'm definitely trying to be as close as possible for that set. I've seen him over 10 times but this will be the biggest crowd I've seen at one of his shows, which will be interesting. I'll pass on the moshing part. Would a Pitchfork crowd even mosh? My first P4K this year |

Hey everyone. I lurked for several months on the old board and created an account, only to post very very rarely. I'm a college student living in Peoria. I've lived here all of my living memory. Currently only planning to go Lollapalooza but trying to grab a pitchfork or riot fest single day. I'd be happy with any day of pitchfork and probably any day of riot fest. I listen to a broad variety of stuff. Most things that aren't country or EDM. I listen to a lot of Radiohead, Frank Ocean, Kanye, and Arcade Fire. Also a big fan of some
poppier things ranging from Lady Gaga to Ingrid Michaelson. Anyways, you guys all seem super cool so I hope I get to meet a few of you eventually.

sounds like Peoria has been a lot better with booking shows since i left sadly. might come home in a few weeks and swing by the riverfront.

Tons of fun activities and street fests. A bunch of new bars and restaurants that are all varrying levels of good to great. And yeah, shows have been getting booked here that are significantly better than they used to be. I saw Mavis fucking Staples with the bridge to east peoria (or to downtown if you live across the river) in the background behind the stage. Some really cool shit happens here now. Let me know what show you're here for, and I'd love to meet up or just grab a beer or something! |

I'm a college student living in Hyde Park, originally from Youngstown, OH. Get all my concert/festival news here, looking forward to contributing to the chaos!
